Paralelismos Entre Las Religiones Orientales Y La Ciencia Moderna

This paper will delve into Christians Anthropological Dualism and Materialism/Physicalism, finding the positive and negative aspects of both viewpoints. Christian Dualism is the true anthropological viewpoint available, and this paper will bring out the common pitfalls of materialism. This subject is important in today’s society because many atheists do not believe in life after death, affirming that there is nothing in the world apart from the physical body despite the abundance of evidence present. Materialism, while it does have some advantages, is clearly inferior to Dualism, specifically Christian Dualism, as the most plausible explanation for the current state of the humans. While Materialism is embraced by much of the scientific and academic community of this world, Christian Dualism is the more correct view on anthropological dualism, and if this is correct, it has life changing implications for humans living today.…

According to the linguistic roots of the term religion re-, means “again” and lig-, means “join” or “connect”. The word religion proposes the joining of the human world to the sacred world (Molloy, 2010). In my personal point of view religion is very important because it allows us to believe that there is a God who loves us and wants us to be happy. There are different types of religions and none of them are wrong if they lead people to a life of love, joy, compassion, and service. The question of why religions exist is evidently because it serves as human needs (Molloy, 2010). One of the first needs of humans is having a meaning when it comes to dealing with our mortality. It is very common that as individuals we try to look for a purpose of why different situations happen in life especially when we have no control over them. The religion we belong to can give us comfort to some level in our life. There are some elements known to involve a religion regardless of which one it is which will be discussed in this paper. Also this paper will mention the relationships with the divine, sacred time, sacred space or the natural world, and the relationship with each other.…

The Hindu temple was the first temple that are class attended. It was such a different atmosphere then the usual church setting I was accustom too. From every statue to every piece of clothing the Hindu temple was an incredible place to be in. It had a smoky scented smell in the room. The Gods had very colorful elaborate clothing on. The women would bring the clothing to make the gods look better than us humans. The only time the women would change the clothes would be before the festivals. The temple even had a bell in the middle that you would ring when entering so they would know your there. I recognized many different gods that we talked about in class. Lord Rama was to the left with his wife Cita and his brother Lakmasha, and then you had Lord Krishna to the right. The Hindu Priest was telling us that Rama was more about discipline and Lord Krishna taught how to mediate and taught the different principles. I also seen other gods such as Lord Laymi, the god of wealth, they had the nine planetary of astronomy, and I also identified Durga the mother God. One interesting thing I learned was when you wanted to get married, you would go to the Hindu Priest and he would look at the stars to see if you were going to be compatible. Another thing I learned was in the South of India they used black stone for their statue cause it was stronger, and in the north they use white stone.…
