Science and art, the methods of the two have different guides that they follow or traditions and the audiences that their work is intended for is different as well. While they share many difference the motivation and goals of science and are basically the same in a way. An artist and a Scientist main mission or goal in their career is to see the world in new ways, discover new things and to commutation the certain vison they see to others around the world as well. For example, in the past there has been astounding parallels between a movement in art and a revolution in science, some examples are Kepler’s ellipses and the elliptical structures of the Baroque, Newton's experiments with the prism involving light entering a room through a narrow aperture. …show more content…
Science and its ideas have inspired art and the artists, including people like Leonardo Da Vinci and Picasso, it is said that science is fundamentally part of a larger cultural discourse in which art can engage with it. With artists being having this engagement with science it will allow for the artists to become literate in science
The films presents the idea that through art, science has a way to become more than a stereotypical network of esoteric theory, jargon and experiments, because at its interior, science is an experimental search for the truth. There’s a scene in the film where Giannotti plays the piano after sustaining a long amount of hours in the lab. He has a great passion for music, and this reveals that serious experimental physicists have lives and other things they enjoy doing outside of the lab. This is also supports that some artistic tools of application and creativity shape scientific attempts.
Another way that Levison accentuated the parallels between science and art by capturing scientist's reaction to art.
Another scene in the film, particle fever, examine a point. David Kaplan and Nima Arkani-Hamed scrutinize an art installation outside the institute for advanced studies at Prince University in New Jersey. The sculpture was names “slate oasis”, the sculpture they were viewing consisted of small red and blue slabs of slate arranged in a courtyard. The crew who created the film, filmmakers, use the sculpture to help explain and come to a conclusion as to how the higgs fits into the standard model. This model conveys that everything is made up of four fundamental particles and those particles that everything is made up of, interact through fundamental
forces.
In conclusion, science and art, while they seem to be completely different they are more alike than they appear to us. In this film is was shown and proved that artistic application can incline and shape scientific attempts. Science and art parallels have existed centuries ago, even dealing with some of the bet artists ever to exist. These two subjects , science and art , have a tendency to intertwine but they can also enhance each other and help to see the world in a different way and use as a way to express what they see and what it mean , to provide a way of understanding to the people or the audience that follows their work ,
