“All Quiet on the Western Front” was based from the German perspective but I feel it was more different and unique from the Canadian perspective. Canadians are stereotypically seen as the nice goody-two-shoes that help the U.S and Britain. We are seen as less of threat because of our smaller army but we are underestimated as well. Most movies, especially war movies show America being the hero’s and saving the world, blah blah blah it’s always the U.S saving the world and never anyone else. But “Passchendaele” showed Canada winning the battle and displaying what Canadians can really do. Now I’m not saying the a movie from the German side wouldn’t be interesting its just that the movie was harder to understand and we never finished watching it. A movie from the Canadian side and actually wining, says something about us poutine-eating
