Passing a class
Three Steps to Pass EL 103
Motivation and commitment are a must to achieve all our goals. In our lives, we need to have determined objectives, with some type of flexibility in case we cannot accomplish our plans. EL103 is one the steps for my study goals. Some steps to pass this course are the following; follow an organized schedule, identify your strengths and flaws, and keep a positive attitude.
First, it is very important for students to have a study plan. Time management is a must as a learner. Students should follow a schedule, planning the right amount of time for each activity during the day. Moreover, when it is time to study or do some homework, one should be in a comfortable and productive environment, and away from any type of distraction. Stress and procrastination can be obstacles for an EL 103 class. Don’t do your homework tomorrow if you can do it today!
Second, we are not infallible; recognize your strengths and weaknesses. If you don’t understand something, please ask! The professor will be more than happy to explain any doubts you may have. Also, if you have any papers to turn in, don’t wait until the last minute to do them. Give yourself the time you need to present an A paper. The student can also go to the Writing Center for extra support on their writing.
Last, but not least, keep an optimistic attitude. Everything is easier when you look at the bright side of things. Time will pass by no matter what, might as well do something productive with it.
In conclusion, these three steps don’t have a different level of importance; they are acting at the same time in three words: commitment, organization, and improvement. Just keep reminding yourself you are going to school for your future, so you can give yourself and your family a better one, and of course, you want to be successful in life! Are you ready to be the best you can be at this EL 103 class?

The amount of energy we have when we do work affects it completely be it negative or positive. As students, we should know what brings us up and what brings us down and should get ourselves to the energy level that will help us better focus on the task at hand. We also tend to study for long periods of time without many breaks because of something that could be due the next day. In this chapter, it suggests that we study throughout the day so we wouldn’t have to deal with everything all at once, but instead piece by piece so we don’t stress out about much whenever it comes close to the time of taking it. procrastinating and distractions are also issues that we deal with and need to learn how to control what goes on around us. If we know certain things will distract us from our work, we should get in the habit of avoiding them or finding a place that we know we can completely focus on our work. Towards the end of the chapter, it talks about how to juggle family, school, and job responsibilities. It all comes down to scheduling our life to the point where we know exactly how much time each task requires and establish an efficient schedule so we do not worry about having sufficient time for each one.…

When I have a load of work to do, I manage my time efficiently by sitting down, playing music, with no distractions, and get work done before the assignment’s due date. As soon as I receive a task, whether it be due in a month or the next week, I write it down in my planner, phone, and computer to remind myself to complete my homework. Procrastination is never a problem for me since I plan ahead and stay organized. This allows me to have free time on my weekends, relax from school, and not have to worry much about homework or studying. I’m not employed therefore I have plenty of free time to think about my assignments and give my best effort. Col 101 has taught me how to set my priorities and inspire myself to work hard by adding a treat of some sort to our study time. My work on Rhetorical Analysis shows my development of the skill recognizing rhetorical aspects in a text. My comfort level with recognizing rhetorical aspects in a text before the assignment was super low due to I am not used to looking closely at the recognizing rhetorical aspects in a text but instead the content of the text. That was clearly shown with the change in direction of my paper from the first draft to my second draft. I moved from looking at the content of the text to recognizing rhetorical aspects in the text. “With the adaptation of analepsis in a non-fiction/memoirs, Sestero wanted to show the readers that you don’t have to follow what is known to be the traditional way of doing things.”…
