This is a three-part paper in which I will reflect on my personal and professional growth during my program of study at the University of Phoenix. Part one will reflect upon were I was in my personal and professional life when I started the University of Phoenix program. Part two will evaluate the growth my experienced during my University of Phoenix program of study. Part three will analyze the impact of completing the University of Phoenix bachelor's program on my current and future professional goals?
Part One
After high school I attempted to pursue more of an education at Miller Hawkins Business College. I was only able to finish nine months of this college due to my husband re-enlisting in the United States Navy. At that time I was six months pregnant with my first child. With this move I withdraw from college and move with my husband to Pensacola, Florida. I did not continue my education; instead I started our family and put my education on hold. After 17 years of marriage and 3 children my marriage failed and all I had was my work experience and had lived secured by the military life. At this point I decided that I truly would like to finish what I had started over 20 years ago and get my degree in accounting. I believed that it was time to do something for myself and to fulfill some of my goals that I had started years ago.
I was a single mother with older children whom did not need so much of my attention. I continued to work to support myself and needed to find to find a college that was compatible with my work and family life. I started doing research on different colleges and university and found that the University of Phoenix seemed to be most compatible with my needs since they had the distance learning program. This would enable me to work full time and to attend school full time without having to follow someone else’s schedule. The University of Phoenix will allow me to set my own schedule when I would
