1. I would want to find out their reasons for wanting to learn English, any experience they have had previously and what level they are currently at. I would also want to know what styles of teaching they find beneficial in their learning process.
2. I would find out by asking the learners to interview each other and possibly present them to the class.

I believe that the learners who learn English for career, status and job prospects or because of pressure from family to be the most challenging as the motivation does not come from within and rather an outside source.

Knowledge of grammar is necessary to correct learner’s mistakes when made, but not only that, an explanation as to why it was incorrect in a clear and concise manner. This can only be done with a thorough knowledge of the language and its grammar.
