Pat Tillman
“Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.” J.F.K wrote this quote in admiration of his country. Pat Tillman showed great similarity in J.F.K’s cite. While he was an extraordinary developed man, he was a very bright young student as well. Pat Tillman was born on November 6, 1976. Pat played football in high school and he ended up winning a scholarship to attend Arizona State University. With his committed mind he was selected in the seventh round of the 1988 NFL draft by the Arizona Cardinals. After the horrific 9/11 attacks he was moved and turned down his contract with the Cardinals to enlist in the army. Pat Tillman was a man with an extraordinary amount of determination, a strong mind, and had a distinct strong work ethic.

He never gave up on what he set his mind to and he devoted his life to his family and friends, because he put himself before others. Tillman had a strong selflessness character, he showed this right when he told the NFL that he was turning down their multi-million dollar offer and instead was going to join the army. Tillman’s community and supporters saw this perseverance when he told the news that “I didn’t play all the great, but the team played great.” He also turned down the LA Rams huge offer because he felt like he should stay at Arizona and wasn’t in for the money. When Pat got back from his deployment, he told his coach that he did not want to go back, but he had to because he made a commitment to fight for the country.
