Many people remember Pat Tillman as being determined. While he was in high school, he took his team to win the state championship and when he was interviewed, he said that the team played great and they were the reason they won. Another way Tillman showed modesty was by saying that he had a high amount of respect for people in the military, but that he felt he hadn’t done anything to help the country. Finally, when he got the Arthur Ashe courage award, he sent his brother to accept it instead of himself because he didn’t want draw attention to himself. Pat Tillman’s modesty was possibly his greatest characteristic.
Pat Tillman is remembered as an American hero because of his determination, strong work ethic, and his modesty. He was determined even when not many teams gave him the chance to play football for them. Also, His strong work ethic stood out when he joined the Army Rangers which is something you have to work extra hard for. Finally, Tillman showed modesty by never saying he was the best and always putting his team or other people before himself.
