What challenges, if any, have you encountered in delivering health care to a person with cultural views different than your own? Have you noticed differences in how you interact with people of different cultures?
Cultural and behavioral issues could stay as one of the main challenges in delivering the most optimal health care for my patients, where these cultural differences could results in poor communications between me as a health provider and the patient and unsatisfactory treatment results.
The main challenges that I encounter during my practice are: the patient’s beliefs toward the governmental health service, the education and perception level of the patients, language, and trust.
In my practice, despite the trails of using a specific character when dealing with different cultures, I have noticed that the interaction with my patients differs according to the patient culture. Honestly, the interaction is a bit higher with those patients who show a high level of seriousness in gaining the optimal treatment, the high educational level, and those who show a trust of me as a health
provider.
