Patient X Interview Patient X is a thirty-eight-year-old male with type one late onset diabetes, which is technically called latent autoimmune diabetes in adults (LADA). I chose to interview this person because sadly diabetes is one of the most common incurable diseases of today’s time. I think that the public should know more about this disease and the personal struggles that go along with it. This interview was personally very informative to me. Before this assignment I had little knowledge about diabetes. Being incurable there is only one major focus once diagnosed with diabetes, management. I began the interview by gaining some background information on the patient. I inquired how he was first diagnosed and asked if there was any family history of diabetes. He began to explain, “In Febuary of 2015 I was originally diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. But, this past summer I was diagnosed with LAPD type 1. I qualified for 2 out of the 5 antibodies present for type 1 diabetes.” (Patient X) After gaining some background information about patient X I inquired about his treatment plan.
