Patriotism Of Freedom Of Speech By Colin Kaepernick

Lately in the United States, people get offended way too easily. Whether it has to do with genders, abortion, etc. But by reading this article, I figured out that patriotism is something people care about. I have to say that Colin Kaepernick’s actions are justifiable, and he is entitled to say what he thinks. After all, freedom of speech is one of our main rights, and criticizing others idea, just degrades the whole purpose of freedom of speech. I completely agree with Scalleta, and Kaepernick as well.

Honestly, I feel like just because you don’t stand up for the flag salute, you “don’t pay homage”, doesn’t mean you are unpatriotic. The flag like Scaletta said is just a symbol of our freedoms. There shouldn’t be any disrespect by not saluting the flag, after all it's just a piece of cloth. The rights the flag represents on the other hand, I completely agree with. I do have a problem just like scaletta when people criticize the thought of others because it is one of our rights.
Scalleta says that the real disrespect comes when people criticize the thoughts of others. This is true and I would bet that if the people who criticize kaepernick, had their ideas judged, they would not like it. People are quick to judge but we live in the united states and we have rights, more importantly, freedom of speech. Freedom of speech guarantees that we have the ability to have our own opinions on anything we want. Therefore, I feel like people should not be judged when they are just using one of their given
