Imagine your whole school was being destroyed right before your eyes. Well, that's what happened to Paul. Paul had a choice, he could go to a makeshift school, or he could go to a completely new middle school. Paul wanted to go to the new school, Tangerine. Mr. Fisher let Paul go there because, he knows that it’s his and his wife's fault that Paul couldn't play soccer at Lake Windsor Middle School. (which is Paul's old school) the effect of the choice on Paul is that Paul …show more content…
realizes that his dad actually cares about him, and he now has a chance to become someone at Tangerine. Paul reacts to the choice by feeling as if things are finally going his way.
Your choices can be detrimental to your relationships, or even others relationships. Paul could never see well out of his eyes, and he didn't know why. Hed always been told by his parents that he stared at an eclipse too long, but he knew that it wasn't the truth. Mr. Fisher told Paul that fib because, he didn't want paul to hate his brother since it was eric's (Paul's brother) fault that Paul couldn't see well. That little lie changed everything for Paul. Now, he feels betrayed by his dad, and his relationship with Erik is worse. The impact of this choice was astronomical to Paul.
Paul’s brother, Erik, has severe anger issues. One time he got so mad that he told someone to spray spray paint in paul’s eyes. Now, he can’t see. Before that incident, Paul’s grandparents told Mr. Fisher that “ Erik needed help. He needed a doctor’s help” (Bloor 287). Mr. Fisher never took Erik to the doctor because of that, Paul has poor vision. Mr. Fisher never took Erik to the doctor because, he thought that Erik to the doctor because, he thought that Erik would take drugs and “ be one of those medicated kids who float all around the time like they’re underwater” (Bloor 287). The consequence of that decision is that Paul can’t see very well without his glasses, and Erik traumatizes Paul every day.
The choices that Mr.
Fisher made altered Paul’s life like dominoes. Mr. Fisher affected Paul by altering his relationships. Mr. Fisher helped to shape Paul’s relationship with Erik. He also shaped Erik’s personality, and Erik cause Paul to have a fight with Joey. If Mr. Fisher took Erik to a doctor, then Paul would probably turn out like Joey. Also, if Mr. Fisher had told Paul the truth in the first place, then there would be a lot more trust between them. Even though Mr. Fisher has not been the best dad in the world, he still wanted to keep Paul and Erik from hating each other, and he let Paul follow his dream to go to Tangerine Middle School. Mr. Fisher affected Paul through his choices. Your choices affect not just you, but the people around you. Choose to do what is best for everyone, not just
yourself.
