The claim is made very clear in the thesis as the main issue is stated. In this paragraph Keating brings his speech to life as he firstly recognises that we as people haven’t done our best to show the indigenous aboriginals and Torres Strait islander’s sustainment, hope and opportunity for the future. This in some ways builds a sense of ethos as it is the first act of trust and credibility in the speech.
