“Methods of Evangelism”
Part ONE - Evangelistic Method #1- There are two “Intellectual” methods in evangelism. The first is called the Roman Roads and the other is the Four Spiritual Laws. The Roman Roads should be considered the better of the two. The reason behind this reasoning is that all the essentials are found in the book of Romans. It consists of seven verses total starting with Romans 3:10, "As it is written, 'There is none righteous, not even one... '" Rom. 3:23, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Rom. 5:12, "Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned." Rom. 6:23, "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Rom. 5:8, "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Rom. 10:9-10, "if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved; for with the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation." Rom. 10:13, "For whoever will call upon the name of the Lord will be saved." In each of these verses it shows us the step by step method of God’s love for each of us and how each of us can be saved. We can simply go to the book of Romans and highlight each of these verses. By doing this we can create our own Roman Road in our Bibles. The advantage in doing this is because the other method, verses are scattered throughout the Bible. This creates a simple quick reference to turn to when we share the love of Christ with someone. Truly the only one disadvantage to the Roman Road is that it given to us by one author and it was only written to certain group of people of biblical times, but despite this disadvantage it is still easier to show someone the steps of salvation

William Fay begins the book, Share Jesus Without Fear by pointing out the underlying reason for evangelism. He argues that evangelism is not about bringing people to Jesus or “winning souls” but it is about obedience (p.3), motivated by faithfulness. Fay challenges believers about their “sin of silence” by pointing out that only five to ten percent of Christians have shared their faith in the past year (p.6). He argues that there are two groups of Christians: those who talk to the lost and lose who only talk about the lost (p.8). He encourages believers to talk to the lost and avoid the “sin of silence” and the lack of urgency concerning evangelism.…

This however, may seem a daunting task. However, when placed in context it should be seen that this task, although daunting, could be accomplished. One term seems to predominantly describe those that remain outside the church. The term of post-modern has taken on a prolific hatred in the contemporary American church. Yet, the hope remains that through engaging this culture there can be Gospel work…

This resource offers innovate way in expressing what has changed the believers heart. This could also be taught to an entire church on how to start an evangelism program. This philosophy can be implemented right away into an every day conversation. A person would probably need to read through the work possibly twice to fully understand the concepts being presented and to see how to implement them into their daily lives. It would have to become part of them. This book helps clarify a simple way to share the faith. There are a multiple of programs, methods, and marketing technique that are available to sharing the Gospel these days. However, the approach that was examined in “Sharing Jesus without Fear” alleviates the pressure that some might feel to follow a system. This system is heavily dependent on the scripture and the work of the Holy Spirit to do the convicting. It really does help me to understand that the Gospel can be shared virtually anywhere without being so in the face of people. This is opening a door to ask someone to share what they believe with the believer and in return showing the true. Instead of saying out from the beginning, you are going to hell. It does take evangelism in a different direction and his emphasis on living out the Gospel. To having a powerful impact in regards to the Gospel one must be living it and this is so…

The book, Questioning Evangelism, is about sharing the gospel with others in a way that will create conversations instead of arguments and Randy Newman is able accomplishes this in his dialoguing throughout the book. This book is a monograph on evangelism and delves into ways a person is able to evangelise without a step-by-step process. Randy Newman starts the book with a style of evangelism that responds to the unbeliever’s questions with a question instead of an answer. By doing this a person is prone to listen more to the other person and avoids having to try answer questions that they have no answer to answer at the time. This style comes from the Jewish culture and how they speak to each other.…
