When I was reading “Paul’s Case A Study in Temperament” by Willa Cather, the character reminded me of the young version of my cousin. He used to strive against everyone and having a difficulty of trusting people just like Paul. Throughout the story, Paul was raised by a single family and experiencing the teenage rebellion. Somehow I feel about Paul was self-willed because of what he had done to his teacher. Willa mentioned, “The insult was so involuntary and definitely personal as to be unforgettable”(1).
