PAGE, is a father. He is in his early 40s. He places a gift bag next to his daughters new car. He grabs a bow out of the bag and carefully places it on the hood of the car.
Morris drives fast past Page’s house. He honks his horn. Page looks up at Morris who drives past him. He waves.
PAGE
Hi Morris.
He focuses his attention back on making sure the bow looks perfect on his daughters car.
INT. CESSNA 172 - DAY
Morris puts his earmuffs on. He flips the control buttons up. He cautiously lifts the throttle control up.
The plane beautifully takes off from the runway. His airplane climbs higher into the sky.
Morris’s airplane flies over the Chesapeake Bay. He glances out the window.
EXT. CHESAPEAKE BAY - DAY

water glistens as Morris flies over it. He has a deep smile on his face, he takes in the beauty of the scenery below. Morris is at peace with his life. The waters reflection is a bright white light that strikes Morris’s eyes. The aircraft hovers over the water.
EXT. BARRIER ISLANDS - DAY
Later. Morris flies over the Barrier Islands. Morris’s plane drops twenty five feet above the water. Resembling an amphibian aircraft. BIRD, races against Morris’s airplane. Bird flies above the plane and out of sight. Morris’s plane rises above the water.
We see the back end of the plane as it heads off towards the heavenly sunset. The water below shines bright, like a diamond. Focus in on the luminous light burnishing off the water.
EXT. SCOTT FIELD RUNWAY - DAY
Morris looks at the runway below him as he finishes his final loop.
INT. CESSNA 172 - DAY
Morris reduces his speed to 75 mph. He turns the navigation controls on his dashboard on -- adding 20 degrees of flap. Turning final, he adds full flaps and holds 2200 RPMs. Morris reduces his speed to 65 mph.
BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. Morris’s pager goes off. He pulls it out of his pocket, smiling at the message. But sirens blare from his dashboard. Therefore red lights flash on his system information display. Morris drops his pager. It crashes onto the floor of his plane.
Pager reads: Love u hun when ru coming home 4 dinner
Morris’s channel shuts off -- his engine lost power. Remaining calm, Morris pushes the throttle control forward. Hoping the plane will lift, but the wings stall. Morris’s plane plunges toward the field.
INT. CESSNA 172 - DAY
Morris scrambles trying to press the buttons on the navigation control system. But they don’t work. A beat.
MORRIS
Oh shit.
He tries to lift the throttle level, but the plane won’t budge. Through his dashboard he sees the electrical wires approaching, he nosedives towards them.
EXT. PAGE’S DRIVEWAY - DAY
Page faces the field as he buffs his daughters car. He looks up at the field watching in horror as Morris’s plane plummets towards the runway.
He stops cleaning his daughters car with a ragged, old towel covered in holes. He stops chewing his gum. His jaw drops wide open, panic is written all over his face.

Come on Morris, get it...
Page moves his hand up signaling that the plane should rise up.
EXT. SCOTT FIELD RUNWAY - DAY
Morris’s Cessna 172 hurtles toward the wires. His plane slams into a cable -- causing his plane to flip over on impact. Wires snap off from the tower, wrapping around the plane. The wheels are now on top and the aileron - wings are on the bottom as it nose-dives towards the runway.
EXT. PAGE’S DRIVEWAY - DAY
A piercing sound grows louder. His towel falls to the ground laying next to his black shoes. Page covers his ears and quickly runs towards his backyard.
INT. CESSNA 172 - DAY
Black electrical wires wrap around the plane. Numerous black wires cover the front windshield. The cables flare around rapidly on the dashboard, releasing electrical sparks. A crack appears on the windshield.
MORRIS
DAMN YOU! PIECE OF FREAKING CRAP!
Concurrently Morris makes a fist - digging his nails into his hand. He whams his hand on top of the dashboard.
MORRIS (CONT’D)
GOD DAMMIT! (Beat) GOD DON’T YOU FUCKING LET ME DIE! I AM N--
CUT TO BLACK.
The plane crashes into the ground.
EXT. PAGE’S DECK - DAY
Page’s backyard looks onto the runway, in the distance we see a large cloud of smoke rising up from the grass field. The screeching noise is at an ultimate high level. Page runs towards the sliding glass doors. He opens it up and runs inside, slamming the door shut behind him.
EXT. PAGE’S DRIVEWAY - DAY
A live voltage cable whips furiously in the air. Sparks fly off the cable. CRASH. The cable connected to a transponder whams fiercely into his daughters new car. The cable flares on top of the car.
The transponder releases from the cable, flying towards a nearby tree. The tree catches on fire. In the distance Page watches from the front window. He is on the phone, with his hands covering his mouth.
INT. RAY’S HANGAR - DAY
Upbeat music plays as RAY, 44, works on his airplane. He’s underneath his plane, laying on a creeper seat. He holds a red and blue wire about to combine them when the music and the lights shut off. Ray slides out from underneath the aircraft.
RAY
What the...
He stands up, with his back to the runway. Ray walks to the adjacent wall which contains the electrical box. He opens it up and flips up a switch. But the lights and music remain off - the power is still out.
Ray glances at the runway, not believing what he sees he stares back at the electrical box. After processing what his eyes just saw he turns facing the runway. He lifts his safety glasses up and puts them above his head.
RAY (CONT’D)
(mouths)
...FUCK!
His hands cover his mouth, as he falls to his knees. The site he sees is appalling. Ray turns pale white; completely in shock having a hard time breathing.
It finally hits Ray that he is the only witness and he has to spring into action. He stands up. Grabs the fire extinguisher hanging on the wall. He runs towards the field.
EXT. GRASS FIELD - DAY
The plane is completely flipped over. The wings are on the ground, and the tires are up in the air. Black wires are wrapped around the plane.
On impact the rudder - piece from the back end of the plane broke off. It lies next to the plane -- all bent and twisted. The dissevered piece is now fully engulfed in fire. The back end of the plane is completely open -- smoke arises. Sparks fly off the aircraft and onto the grass.
In the distance a tree that is on fire near Page’s house is getting hosed off. After the smoke clears, the tree stands tall yet bare and burnt. It is entirely black and dead.
Several voltage cables lay in the field. Sparks fly off from the cables. A fire starts growing in the grass, quickly heading towards Morris’s plane.
Ray arrives on scene aiming the fire extinguisher at the piece that broke off. The fire dissipates. A heavy, dark black smoke rises up from the scene. Page runs up next to Ray -- out of breath, barely breathing.
RAY
Quick, shut off the ignition switch in the plane before it explodes, I’ll put out the fire.
Ray runs to the fire that is heading towards the plane. He sprays the fire with the fire extinguisher. Page runs to the plane.
EXT. CESSNA 172 - DAY
Shards of glass lay near the front end of the plane. Blood is mixed in with the glass. Page climbs through the broken windshield.
Oil drips off the side of the plane and onto the grass.
EXT. GRASS FIELD - DAY
The fire is a few feet in front of the plane. Ray points the extinguisher nozzle at the fire. He sweeps it from side to side, putting out the fire.
PAGE (O.C.)
I need help!
Once the fire is put out Ray puts the fire extinguisher on the ground. He runs towards the plane.
EXT. CESSNA 172 - DAY
He looks at the passenger door, but it has multiple wires wrapped around it. He pulls on the door, but he can’t get in. He tries to move the wires, but they won’t budge. He runs to the front of the plane.
INT. COCKPIT - DAY
He puts his hands on the broken windshield and climbs through it. Blood drips down Ray’s hand. The interior layout of the plane has completely switched. Ray walks into the plane stepping onto the ceiling, which is on the bottom. Morris’s seat and the control dashboard are on top.
Morris’s face is black, drenched in blood. He sits buckled in, eyes are closed, chin pressed against his body, arms and legs are sprawled out blackened with blood - unresponsive. His glasses are crooked, and parts of the glass fell out of the frame.
PAGE
Morris can you hear me? (Beat) We’re going to get you out.
Page holds Morris’s body intact, while he tries to unbuckle
him.
EXT. CESSNA 172 - DAY
Various sparks fly off the plane and land onto the piece that disjoined. The rudder goes up in flames. A pool of gasoline starts growing getting near the fire.
INT. COCKPIT - DAY
Ray reaches his hands out holding onto Morris. Together they slowly pull Morris out from his seat. They hold him steady as they pull him through the shattered windshield.
EXT. GRASS FIELD - DAY
Ray holds the top half of Morris’s body; Page holds the bottom half. They gently and slowly place Morris down on the grass. The sound of an ambulance and fire truck grow closer. Morris is dead, he lies there lifeless. Ray starts mouth to mouth resuscitation on Morris.
Page looks up and sees a fire on the parted piece of the airplane. He grabs the fire extinguisher and runs towards it.
The gasoline catches on fire. A trail of fire heads towards the plane. Page sprays the fire, trying to put it out.
The ambulance and fire truck pull up to the crash landing. Ray continues mouth to mouth as the paramedics wheel the stretcher towards Morris. Firefighters run with their hose towards the fire.
RAY
(to Morris)
We need you to come back!
Ray tries one more time with mouth to mouth resuscitation. He takes one large breath and breathes deeply into Morris’s mouth. Morris’s eyes slightly open up, squinting -- he’s alive.
In the b.g. firefighters put the fire out. Morris gets loaded onto the stretcher and he gets wheeled into the ambulance.
EXT. NORFOLK GENERAL HOSPITAL - DAY
An ambulance sits near the entrance of the hospital, it’s still running. After a few seconds it drives away.
INT. NORFOLK GENERAL HOSPITAL - DAY
White double doors fly open -- Morris’s stretcher gets pushed through the doors, down the hallway. A PARAMEDIC and NURSE push Morris’s stretcher down the hall. He is hooked up to a breathing tube, which starts beeping.
PARAMEDIC
We’re losing him.
NURSE
He needs more oxygen!
Sandy gasps for air at the sight of Morris. Sandy’s eyes start to water up.
PAT GOODMAN, is in her early 30s. She just came from the gym wearing a bodysuit, pink leggings, and a denim jacket. Her hair is in a side high ponytail with a pink scrunchie. Unable to look at Morris she closes her eyes and covers her mouth at the sight of Morris.
Sandy tries to block out the image of Morris by resting her head on Pat’s shoulder. Pat opens up her eyes, putting her arms around Sandy trying to comfort her. But she has tears running down her face.
