What better for adaptation than the one piece of technology that is evolving and changing every hour of every day, the personal computer. The debate between the superior video game platform is a wide one, ranging from XBOX vs. play station to wii vs. them both. From an even wider view, the debate between consoles and PCs has been going on since the first console, the Magnavox was released. Even then, in the 50s, PCs were pushing ahead on the interactive home entertainment front. The PCs is the better gaming platform for a plethora of reasons. From pricing to qaulity the PC beats the console in nearly every aspect. This is mainly because consoles can not be easily produced, upgraded or updated as PCs can. This constant innovation on the PC front results in top of the line gaming on your new or relatively new home computer. Since the 70's and 80's when gaming really started to take off, there was an increased market for both consoles and personal computers. With the Nintendo entertainment system being the first console to sell over 30 million units in the U.S. consoles were really making a name for themselves. At this same time PC games were advancing, with higher resolution graphics and more versatile controls, the pc was a better system but suited a niche of gamers. Games like Microsoft flight simulator pushed the technical limit on video games at the time, with advanced flying statistics, sprawling landscapes and complicated controls, this was as realistic as it got at the time, and it was done on only one platform, the personal computer. While technical feats like a realistic flight simulator were being achieved on the personal computer, while games were still in 8-bit on the NES. As time went on consoles like the dream cast, play station 2 GameCube came out.
