Nut Butters

Nuts are not the foods of choice for a daily diet because of their high-fat content. However, they are a good food option for people with dry socket. According to Webmd, they are high in protein, fiber as well as antioxidant properties. You can use a food processor to grind up peanuts and almonds to create your own homemade peanut and almond butter.

Tofu

Tofu is a soy product and is packed with about 10g of protein. Tofu on its own can be extremely plain, but it can easily be tweaked with soy sauce or chili to fit your taste buds. This is great for eating while having dry socket because it is easy on your sore gums and mouth.

The key to a successful recovery is consuming products that provide your body with energy and are easy to consume. Now that you have a few protein rich foods of your own you can use them to make your battle with dry socket

According to diet.lovetoknow.com, animal sources of protein are eggs, fish, poultry, and meat. This is because they contain all the amino acids that are essential to the body. They are essential because the body cannot produce them on its own. This means that the eggs, salmon, tuna, ham, pork bacon in Mr. Smith's diet is complete. Almonds are a plant source and are considered incomplete because they contain only part of the amino acids the human body needs.(Eating, 2006) There is not another incomplete source of protein in Joe's diet to complement the almonds. From the foods and beverages recorded in my three day intake most contained some percentage of protein except the sodas. The highest percentage of protein came from my ham and cheese omelet every morning. Another good source of protein was the low fat milk in my cereal which I usually ate for lunch or a snack. Some other foods with protein were the mixed grain bread, bean and cheese burrito, nachos from Taco Bell, corn dogs, and Subway sandwiches. Foods that contained carbohydrates were basically everything. The only item on my list that contained very low percentages of carbohydrates was ham and cheese omelets. The food items that contained the most amount of carbohydrates was mixed grain bread, sodas, Frosted Flakes cereal, low fat milk, bean and cheese burrito, nachos from Taco Bell, French fries, and Subway sandwiches. Lipids were also found in most food items on my list as well. The only items on my list that did not contain lipids are the soda and Frosted Flakes cereal. The items that contained the most amounts of lipids are the ham and cheese omelets, nachos from Taco Bell, and the Subway sandwiches.…
