Peanuts Characters
All four Peanuts characters take different approaches to their assignment. Though most finish successfully, they all encounter problems on the way that influence the direction their report takes. All begin by saying “Homework, yuck.” None of them enjoy the
Lucy attempts to write whatever comes to mind with some nonsense included. More focused on the word limit, she attempts to write several fillers with whatever comes to her mind. Though what most of what she writes makes sense, she ends up pausing often to find the longest way of writing out what she wants to say. Schroeder attempts to start off with a normal introduction, but ends up going off topic and rambling about irrelevant topics, though he does make a weak attempt at connecting his rambles with the original topic. Unfortunately it continues throughout his entire report and “Peter Rabbit” is only mentioned about three times.
Linus overanalyzes the children story amazingly. He goes into the “psychological” side and attempts to explain Peter Rabbit’s actions through science.
Charlie Brown portrays most people when it comes to assignments that can be freely interpreted. He procrastinates and wonders about the importance of the assignment and the effect that it may have on his mental health. Though he eventually starts, the other kids are done by the time he decides to sit down and put thought into his assignment.
I can personally relate to all four. When writing an assignment, I tend to use filler words, ramble on irrelevant topics, overanalyze, and procrastinate. Though I do finish the assignment to the best of my ability, I always end up wondering to myself whether or not I could have done

In the novella ‘Of Mice and Men’, John Steinbeck uses strengths and weaknesses by using the characters to show both their strengths and weaknesses. Irony and foreshadowing play a large roll on how the story ends. Lennie and his habit of harming soft things, not on purpose, but he is a victim of his own strength. George trying to pretend that his feelings for Lennie mean nothing. The entire novel is repetitive in themes and expressed views.…

Analyzing the dialogue and obvious nature of both characters in the cartoon strip, I feel that I most closely identify with Linus. Although Charlie Brown may have the same ambitions or goals for his education set up for him in the future, at the moment he does not put any focus into the idea, predominantly because from what I can infer, he simply does not have the mindset that puts something so distant as a main priority. Charlie Brown has the accurate mindset of an ordinary child, while Linus thinks past his age and into his future which causes him to stress over minuscule things that may not be an issue to Charlie Brown, such as missing a day of school due to sickness. The nature of Linus resembles my own as a child; I have and continue…

Page 4 – This page concentrates on introducing the two main characters, George and Lennie. But before John Steinbeck begins this, there is more description about the setting. “The shade climbed up the hills toward the top.” This use of personification is very clever and also a good use of imagery. Steinbeck uses alliteration, “sculptured stones”. The effect of this is to show the comparison between the shade climbing, the sound of someone nearing and the stillness of the rabbits. Then John Steinbeck introduces the two characters. “Both were dressed in denim trousers and in denim coats with brass buttons. Both wore black, shapeless hats. “The characters are straightaway linked and shown to the reader as a pair, which brings about the closeness of their relationship and are then described on their own. George is “small and quick, dark of face, with restless eyes and sharp strong features” and Lennie is the complete opposite. He is described as being “a huge man, shapeless of face, with large, pale eyes, with wide, sloping shoulders; and he walked heavily, dragging his feet a…
