From July to present day, being a Peer Leader has had its ups and downs. Of the many trails and failure, our overall mission will be completed. Besides the task of make Teachers Preparatory School more college bound, I gained personal benefits that I wouldn’t have been able to receive on my own. I will carry these benefits to the work place and exercise it during life.
Form my Peer Leading experience my commitment leave change the most. This year I was over whelmed by stress from various sources, and when I wanted to drop my responsibilities as a Peer Leader my advisors wouldn’t let me. I think that one of my greatest lesson I could have learned at my age, before I go out in the work world. I learn that I can’t recant my commitment, especially when it’s dealing with the lives of people and their future.
Another area that I mature in is my working skills. Though I often procrastinate I still manage to honor deadlines. I think as a child that was one of my weaker areas. After hours of being lecture about not making deadlines I make sure I make it no matter how much time it take up. This is going to help me in college and in my work world.
Another good work habit I developed is to complete every task. Typically if I didn’t want to the task, I wouldn’t. Now that’s not the case. I finish almost everything giving to me without giving it the negative attitude that stopped me from completing former task. This kind of mindset will help me succeed in my college life and in my work life. From college summit I learned how to live without my parents. I woke up on my own made workshops on time and new connections. I gain information to bring back to my peers to help them succeed in their college search. This is very important to me because I am apart of the reason I have a chance at a better life and a future for their children.
