One could argue that the love Maria is shown to feel for Sir Toby could cause her sudden rebellion, but her actions as a mother figure and how she is continuously being separated from Sir Toby and Sir Andrew even when Maria is added into scenes she was not originally present for conflict with this statement because Maria is put into a serving position that could explain her actions instead of love. After walking around with Malvolio, Maria has to go outside to collect a drunk Sir Toby, and when they re-enter the home, they are meet by Sir Andrew. Sir Toby quickly moves up the stairs to be with Sir Andrew while Maria stays on the landing looking up at the two. This disconnects the three who will later plot together against Malvolio. Maria is…

I think the major factor that is causing complexity between the two star-crossed lovers is the bitterness that is contained within the two families. The bitterness in between the two families is causing both Romeo and Juliet stress in knowing that they will not be together due to strong conditions. The bitterness is briefly described in the prologue as," From ancient grudge break to new mutiny".…
October 16th was the opening night for a Carroll production of Romeo and Juliet. Many familiar faces around Carroll are involved with the shakespearian production and everything seems to be going smoothly. On Thursday night (the 15th), a dress rehearsal was given to an open audience and was very well received with seemingly everything going according to plan. However, behind the show are some interesting characters as well.…

Since the beginning of time writers haven chosen a variety of themes to include in their works. The most widely used and complex theme is love. Love is not a specified as a certain feeling or action. For centuries literary plays have employed love into accomplishing their intended outcome of their play. The theme of love emphasizes mutual love, mutual esteem and freedom to choose. Writers tend to make the theme of love become personal and understandable when coming to life in a play. Three writers made this possible in plays using the main theme of love. Three plays that show the complexity of love are “A Doll House” by Henrick Isben, “A Streetcar Named Desire” by Tennessee Williams, and “A Midsummer…
Context has been a major faction contributing to the way Romeo and Juliet was written. In William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, Baz Luhrmann produced a Romeo and Juliet with a modern context rather than an Elizabethan context. Context has influenced the language and representation of ideas throughout Romeo and Juliet, notably with the themes: Loyalty Vs. Disloyalty, Power and inequality. These themes have changed the way Romeo and Juliet was written and put them into a different context.…

Penelope is making a cloth for her father in law, and suitors of all cities near Ithaca wanted to marry her. Penelope is smart and feels miserable without her husband, she is smart by using smart tactics to push back her announcement of marrying one of the suitors, and she feels miserable because she has not seen her husband in a long time. The mood can be described as the center of attention and beautiful, these tell that men are savages when it comes they only want to marry someone who is in grief and take their belongings (Analysis). The painting shows how Penelope is not paying attention to anybody because she does not care of anybody there and she wants Odysseus to come home (Analysis). The painting also shows how Penelope is loyal to Odysseus by not marrying any of the suitors and waiting for him to come home (Analysis). John is portraying that Penelope is the center of attention of the painting by, she is the the main character in the painting from his point of view…
Penelope is shown to be contsently in emotional termilol over odyessus throughout the Odyssey. For much of the book she is seen to be crying until a god take pity on her and allows her to fall asleep. But while Penelope is seen to be very leaky, she is also shown to be very rational, and very bounded to many things. One of this things is the funeral shroud that she uses to trick the suitors for three years by unraveling it at night. This was a very interseting part, because in some way it reence backs to Zues putting a viel on chaos and giving it form. Rather in this intsence the viel is a shroud, Penople is Zeus, and the chaos she is bounding is her solution to keep her husbands home without remarrying, or having to give it up, and to move back in with her parents. Penelope is and intersecting character because she mirrors Zeus first wife in many ways, such as tricking her suitors for three years, and by rational finding out that is Odysseus was the true Odysseus, and not and…
Throughout Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare shows many examples of the main theme, forbidden love. In this story two feuding families, the Montagues and Capulets, each have a child who falls in love with the other. The young Juliet Capulet and Romeo Montague meet and fall in love at first sight. They know they cannot be together because of their names, and that is how the main theme, forbidden love, comes about.…
William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet was written in the Elizabethan era towards the end of the sixteenth century. The play presents a poignant tragedy the magnitude of which transcends the passage of time and culture. Among the themes of universal relevance that contribute to the tragedy are fate and the personality flaws of key characters. At the conclusion of the play, these themes combine to evoke profound sorrow both within the audience and among the play’s surviving characters.…
Obsession is an idea or thought that continually preoccupies or intrudes on a person’s mind. When somebody is obsessed with someone or something, that certain person would do everything just to fulfill his or her wants even if it would negatively affect others. “Othello”, a play written by great William Shakespeare emphasized the three obsessions. These obsessions took an immense role in the story wherein it serves as the root of chaos.…
The play Romeo and Juliet has been around since it was written by William Shakespeare in 1595. The themes inferred in this play have stuck around, despite the social changes that society has went through. We watched three different movies on Romeo and Juliet, and each was set in a different time period (1968, 1996, and 2014). They had many things in common and many things different. Some of the things in common was that the Montague’s and Capulet's did not like each other at all. Also, another similarity is that Romeo and Juliet both die at the end. Although there was a little bit of difference in the way that they died, they still had the same concept of being each other’s true love and dying to be together. Another thing they had in common was that they speak the same language, which was proper English. Some of the differences that the movies had was they dressed differently in each movie. One of which that we watched was a play that was filmed in 2014 and 1968, where the clothing is set with an…
