People attend college or university for many different reasons. However, in my opinion, I think that people attend college or university because they want to prepare for their career and to increase knowledge. Now I elaborate the two reasons why I think this way.
The first reason why I think people attend college or university is because they want to prepare for their career. These days, a lot of people try to go to famous or high quality colleges. By entering the college, it proves that the person had worked hard to enter the college and has absorbed high quality knowledge from the college, which helps the person to get the career the person wants. Because a lot of companies want the best worker they can get to enhance the value of the company. Therefore, by attending college or university, people can get careers easier. This is the first reason why I think that people attend college or universities to prepare for their career.
The second reason why I think people enter college or university is because they want to increase their knowledge. Colleges and universities provide the best information and knowledge for the students to learn. By taking high quality classes from college, they will get more intelligent. Plus, students will learn life lessons and experiences which will help them next time when they are in a same situation in the future. Students will be wiser than they were before, taking a step closer to getting a career they want, and another step closer to success in life. Therefore, people attend college or university to gain more knowledge.
There are various reasons why people enter college or university. However, the two reasons above clearly states that I believe people attend to college to enhance their knowledge and to prepare for their career.

Many employers are looking for college educated workers because they learn more tasks quickly, better problem solving, highly driven, motivated, excellent communication skills and able to meet deadlines in a timely manner then someone who doesn’t have a college education. Also, employers want to hire someone with a college degree because their more likely to have the right technical know-how for the job, written skills, oral communication skills, decision-making, and research and analytical skills. As far as some institutions they offer internship programs and employers depend on that during their hiring process. Today many more students are graduating from high school and heading straight to college rather than graduating and heading straight to the working field, but why? One question that has resonated in my mind since high school is why exactly do we go to college? For my final project, I plan to gather research and analyze the real reasons why students go to college as well as why students decided to attend Northern Kentucky University rather than any other college. I picked this topic of analyzing how social influence plays a role in making a major life decision (such as going to college) because it is very applicable to my life as well as the rest of students. Also, I am extremely interested in understanding more about the pressures society has placed on my generation today to go to college; I know I definitely felt these societal pressures when planning to attend college. I also was extremely hesitant and resistant when it came to deciding to attend Northern Kentucky University. Obviously something persuaded me to attend college (beyond my own desire to further my education) and specifically attend Northern Kentucky University, or else I wouldn’t be here typing this proposal today.…

The main reason why people go to college is not because they want to but because they have to. Most high school seniors are pressured by their guidance counselors and parents to go to college because it is “the right thing to do.” In the essay that Caroline Bird wrote “College is a Waste of Time and Money”, she states that students go to college because.” Mother wanted them to go, or some other reason entirely irrelevant to the course of studies for which college is supposedly organized." The student may have different ideas about what he or she wants to do in life, but because they think that these “mentors” know what is best for them, they probably end up doing something they do not want to do, resulting in being miserable and resentful.…

People attend colleges or universities for a lot of different reasons. I believe that the three most common reasons are to prepare for a career, to have new experiences, and to increase their knowledge of themselves and the world around them. Career preparation is becoming more and more important to young people. For many, this is the primary reason to go to college, They know that the job market is competitive. At college, they can learn new skill for careers with a lot of opportunities. This means careers, such as information technology, that are expected to need a large workforce in the coming years. Also, students go to colleges and universities to have new experiences. This often means having the opportunity to meet people different from those in their hometowns. For most students, going to college is the first time theyve been away from home by themselves. In additions, this is the first time theyve had to make decisions on their own. Making these decisions increases their knowledge of themselves. Besides looking for self-knowledge, people also attend a university or college to expand their knowledge in subjects they find interesting. For many, this will be their last chance for a long time to learn about something that doesnt relate to their career. I would recommend that people not be so focused on a career. They should go to college to have new experiences and learn about themselves and the world they live in. Do you agree or disagree with the following statement Parents are the best teachers.
