“People Should Not Have Any Kind of Sexual Relationship Outside of Marriage” 6
“People should not have any kind of sexual relationship outside of marriage”

Christians believe that you should not have any sexual relationship outside marriage because they say that the best things are worth waiting for, also you would know if your partner knows if they have std’s or one of the diseases Jesus and the Bible teach that marriage is the only appropriate place for sex. Christians are concerned that relationships today are based on sex, not love. They are also worried about the problems casual sex causes for individuals, children and society. Roman Catholics believe the purpose of sex is to join a married couple together and complete their relationship, with the possibility of the birth of children always being present. Sex outside marriage, e.g. living together, is considered by many Christians to be wrong because it interferes with the real purpose of sex as an expression of married love.

People might disagree about this statement they would say Purity seems archaic; abstinence impossible. Why wait when everyone else is getting the goods now? It’s just sex, the subject of nearly every movie and primetime show, even magazine ads. What’s so special about it? In a sex-saturated culture, waiting till marriage seems outdated. Pleasure is the name of the game. But that’s not the whole story. In addition to the risk of contracting STDs and AIDS or getting pregnant, premarital sex leads to emotional distress, distrust, regret and emptiness. That’s because sex connects two people in body and spirit; it’s impossible to separate the two. If you’re planning to give away your virginity, or are hurting from past sexual experiences, read on for a different view of sex.

I have looked at both arguments for this statement and I am on the agreeing side of this statement because you might not even be sure weter the person you are having sex with is the one for you but when you get married you are probably with the person you are looking for in your life, also

Many religions think of sex as sin, but will however forgive you if you have sex before marriage. Just like Sipe states on page 549 within Celibacy Today, “According to Catholic teaching masturbation, contraception, and homosexual acts are among the most “inherent evil” acts among the multiple choices a person can make.” He does state that the theologians pose that within pastoral practices there is always room for understanding and forgiveness though, “as well as authoritative judgments on human sexuality.” In Ghandi’s autobiography he ended up devoting two chapters just to explaining all about how he discovered his dedication to the process of celibacy and his recounting sexual development and celibate failures. There are even religious people that are held high that give in to personal pleasure and then change their ways, get back on the right track and start over again.…

After reading the text, the most important value a person could have is the ability to have Sexual knowledge and critical thinking skills. This will allow us to be ready for whatever situation we might be put into and how we must react to conquer the situation. Everyone has different sexual value systems most of our systems have more than one preference. If I was to talk about myself, and who I am today I would say I been in a long term relationship have a child already so I know how important it is to be responsible. I am still young so I do not want any more children at the time being. That is why I and my girlfriend are safe we use protection, the type we use is birth control. Both of us are not against abortions, and we both believe if it has to be done do it. Everyone embraces a wide variety of sexual encounters and the sexual values we develop are uniquely designed for our individuality. I would say that I am more modern and open when it comes to sex. I like to experiment and try new things that can not only pleasure myself, but my sexually partner. In return I feel this allows both of us to be satisfied with one another and that is what keeps our intimate bond strong. I have never been one to judge people who prefer to have sex after marriage I am not one of them though. I have always been about premarital sex within a relationship, but also outside of them too. I was shy growing up, so I did not have many girlfriends so my sexual encounters were mostly a one night fling. I been with my girlfriend for quite some time now in the beginning a relationship was something new to me. I never thought that my sexual values would change, and I would be as accepting and happy as I…

Based on Christian beliefs we are taught that sex is immoral and its temptation of the flesh. According to the article early Christians believed the same thing. Through the means of marriage is to encourage monogamy, and place parameters around sexuality. Through the years I have learned sex is a sin and one should wait till they are married. “Sexual abstinence was seen as a central and indispensable means of salvation and was achieved through contemplative withdrawal from the world.” (Sprague Sexuality & Religion). From reading this article I learned that compared to Christianity and Islamic religions that woman has more strict consequences when it comes to women who have sexual pleasure. When it comes to sexual pleasure in women in the Islamic world they are closely examined by men and women and it is believed that a sexual pleasured woman is said to be dangerous and out of self-control. Whereas early Christian beliefs it is immoral to have sexual pleasure whether you’re a man or woman. Sexuality in…

Expectations about having sex are very different for men and women. If a woman were to have sex it would be a direct reflection of her character, which is an issue that boils down to women being seen as objects or conquests. If a man has already ‘had her’ she is therefore used and becomes less value to a future life partner. Men who regularly have premarital sex are seen in a positive light, this uphold notions that male promiscuity is not only natural, but also a virtue. This can be see reinforced in the media where men are praised for sleeping with women, as if it’s a positive reflection of their character. Female virginity is no longer a label, it’s an idealized identity that can be used to marginalize. It is a precious quality that must be defended while male virginity is a laughing matter. Even procedures like hymenoplasty, which claim to be “empowering to women”, are done for male pleasure and aesthetics. Women pay money and go through pain to recreate an arbitrary characteristic that is not a definite sign of virginity. So much importance has been placed on a woman’s hymen, which is strange considering they can be broken in numerous ways and that some women are born…

With all the emphasis on the importance of using condoms and birth control to ensure safer sex, I feel the intelligent choice of abstinence is being highly overlooked. It is sometimes viewed as old-fashioned and based solely on religion, but in theory it is a plausible decision for one to make. The word abstinence means to abstain or refrain from something. People tend to forget its specific meaning, and feel that those who make this choice judge the ones that do not. Making this choice myself, I will set the record straight that abstinence is strictly a personal choice and others have absolute no influence. Many of my closest friends have chosen to have sex, and I have and always will be there for them no matter what decisions they make. They too stand by me with the decisions I make, despite the fact that they may be different.…

Lickona declares the benefits of remaining abstinent saying that: [it] ensures that children will have two married parents… [it is] good for parent-child relationships… [it is] associated with more virtuous behavior… and [teens] do better in school” (203). All of these advantages focus mainly on the emotional aspects of abstinence and how they affect a teen’s behavior. Through abstinence, Lickona’s examples argue that adolescents will grow in self-confidence and self-respect, which in turn results in the reduction of out of wedlock pregnancies and reduces the risk of STDs. This particular piece of evidence shows that high moral codes turns into safer choices in a teen’s…

Many of us older adults can remember back to when we were teenagers and dating who we felt was our first love. I can remember very vividly my boyfriend wanting to have sex, and him telling me, “Oh, you won’t get pregnant the first time.” I am sure this has been said many times over the years when one partner wanted to have sex with the other, and many times, the statement has been proven wrong. This is a time in which critical thinking should have occurred.…

Now a days, they believe that having pre-marital intercourse is not breaking any laws. They are under the impression that having intercoursse before marriage is not any different than having it after marriage. In addition, according to the Statistical Abstract of the United States, there has been a 700% increase of teen pregnancies. But according to the bible and followers of the christian faith, “Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.” They believe that having intercourse before marriage is a sin and they are disobeying God’s wishes.…

This is because (as written bellow) in this country the purpose of marriage has traditionally been used as a form of business, money power and survival. However the changes in our society have made marriage considerably less important when compared to, for example two hundred years ago.…
