Pepsi Cola was created in 1893 by an American pharmacist – Caleb Bradham. It was initially called ‘Brad’s Drink’ and was made of carbonated water, sugar, vanilla, rare oils, pepsin and cola nuts. Due to the positive reactions of his samplers, he began advertising in 1898 and he named the drink Pepsi-Cola after the pepsin and cola nuts contained in the recipe. He founded the Pepsi-Cola Company in 1902.
