Percy Jackson is the main protagonist of the last Olympian. Percy isn’t greed at because he turned down god hood. “Oh, not you although I suppose I should wonder turning down immorality” (Riordan, 355) after defeating Kronos he was given a offer to be a god. He is also funny “With great power... comes great need to take a nap. Wake me up later”. Making funny remark and one liner makes him a funny character in general, this funny one liner was said after he obtained the curse of Achilles and they were outside the underworld. Percy is also caring for his friends and he would do anything to protect them. "You're cute when you get worried; your eyebrows get all scrunched together."(Riordan, 199) this was after Percy’s friend Annabeth was fatally…
Percy Jackson has to go through the Road of Trials, The road of trials confronts you with takes or challenges. Percy has to face many characters on his road to fix the gods. Percy fights medusa, cerberus, luke and others to get what he has came for, Poseidon's Bolt. His ability to continually beat and out fight opponents allows the Road of Trials to be noticed and to form. The hero takes him to Saint Louis, Las Vegas and back to NYC where he is met by his father. Saint Louis contains a needed pearl so does Las Vegas. This is called the Night or Sea Journey. The novel guides Percy around the United States so he can accomplish his goal. The Dragon Battle is not literally a dragon with a battle but a battle with a power that is clearly stronger than the hero. In the case of the Lightning Thief, Percy fights a Hades. Hades was the one who took the lightning bolt from poseidon and stirred all this mess. Lastly the Sacred Marriage comes into play. Even Though scared marriage can be a literal marriage, for Percy, it's not. As the story goes along Percy grows a strong emotional bond with his friend Annabelle. Percy allows this bond to continue to grow and uses it to his advantage at times. The Fulfilment, or part two of the Hero's Journey adds good plot to the…

“Percy learns that his father is Poseidon, God of the Ocean but is sad because he feels that he never tried to find him.” He also finds that his mom was not dead and that she was kidnapped by Minotaur when it was chasing Percy. She was returned from the Helm of Darkness after the battle with Ares. In both the Cronus myth and the Lightning Thief, there is a theme which is about fate and prophecy and a mother’s love for her child.…

After some days of running away from 2 Gorgons in the beginning of the book Percy is with no memory except his girlfriend Annabeth and the fact that he can’t kill the 2 Gorgons. He stumbles upon a Roman camp called Camp Jupiter. Percy who’s still followed by the Gorgons uses his powers as the son of Neptune (the god of water and earthquakes) to destroy the Gorgons (temporarily) and save the guard Frank. He meets there Reyna, the daughter of Bellona the female god of war and one of the two camp leaders, Hazel, the daughter of Pluto (the god of the underworld), Frank, an unclaimed demigod, and Nico di Angelo, son of Pluto. Percy, Hazel, and Frank find out that the reason the monsters won’t die is that Thanatos the god of death (not the underworld) is imprisoned. So the camp elects of course Percy, Hazel, and Frank to go to free Thanatos. The catch is that the camp is at San Francisco and Thanatos is in Alaska, and to make harder they have to make it back before the Feast of FORTUNA which is in 4days! On the journey you’ll see the secrets of the three characters are revealed to one another as they go to free Thanatos. With so many obstacles will the trio succeed? Read The Son of Neptune to find out. This book comes from a series called Percy Jackson and the Olympians and its part of the series The Heroes of Olympus. I recommend that you read the 5 books about Percy and the book The Lost Hero.…
The first and most significant finding to me was the fact that Hawthorne leads us to believe that Hercules is this great hero who is going around the world killing and cleaning the world of monsters and evilness. However, the original myth tells us that due to the fact that while Hercules was under a spell from Hera (Hercules father’s (Zeus) wife) he kills his wife and children. Once Hercules realizes what he has done, he asks Apollo for forgiveness and because Apollo likes him, he sends Hercules to serve Eurystheus, King of Tiryns. It is King Eurystheus who assigns Hercules ten labours (which later become twelve since in two of his labours Hercules is helped by someone else and due to the rules of these labours, they are to only be completed by Hercules alone) in order to gain forgiveness for killing his children and wife.…
He gives Percy's sword Riptide, and warns him of the dangers ahead. Next, the approach to the inmost cave arrives when Percy accepts the quest and goes off to save the lightning bolt for his dad. Percy leaves Half-Blood Hill with Riptide, Grover, and his platonic ideal Annabeth. Tests follow Percy during the approach. He meets one of his enemies, Medusa, who attempts to turn him into a statue. His other big enemy, Hades, believes that Percy stole the lightning bolt, but Percy blames Hades for the disappearance. Percy also has his allies. His dad, the god Poseidon, saved Percy’s life when he fell off the bridge into the water, and Annabeth and Grover help him along the whole way. Percy continues searching for the lightning bolt and then runs into Aries in a diner. Percy receives the reward when Aries transports the lightening bolt to Percy’s bag. Later that same day the ordeal takes place. The ordeal is a fight between Aries and Percy breaks out, and Aries turns into his immortal form. One look at Aries would cause Percy to die, but (thank the gods) Aries disappears. Percy returns the bolt to Zeus, and Zeus is pleased to receive the bolt. The road back happens when Percy…
Trust and Betrayal are probably the most important themes in the book. Percy has a hard time trusting people. He is dyslexic, has ADHD and always gets in trouble at school. Always being blamed for bad things made it hard for him to trust anyone. When he finds out Poseidon is his father and he tries to help him in situations, Percy was unsure how to deal with the help. He was upset that his father never had contact with him and only made himself known when he needed Percy’s help. Percy felt like he to get the lightning bolt back was using him. He also had to leave to trust his friends Annabeth and Grover. They got into many situations and they had to trust each other. One example is when they were in Denver and they meet up with Ares. He wants them to get his shield that he left in a water park. Because they weren’t aloud to say no to the God’s, they went. Percy and Annabeth went down into an empty swimming pool to get the shield while Grover stayed on top. Of course it was a trap, Hephaestus made a trap to catch his wife with Ares. Silky threads and spiders started attacking them. They had to trust each other to get them out of trouble. Annabeth hated spiders and the threads were raping around them like a net. Grover turned on the water and Percy had to trust Annabeth when they jumped out of the pool at the exact same time. Grover then came and grabbed them with his winged shoes. Another incident…
Percy’s meeting with Aunt Em [Medusa] made him think about staying with her and gave him a doubt with his mission and this represents the Woman as Temptress. As Aunt Em said, “Do not be a pawn of the Olympians, my dear. You would be better off as a statue. Less pain,. Less pain.” This lines made him think about being the Gods way of hurting one another. The temptation in this part of the story was the urge to stay with Medusa because of her persuading, lull-like voice that tells him to abandon his mission and just be her statue. With the help of Grover and Annabeth, they managed to behead Medusa. Percy proved that even if he know that he is being used by the Gods, it is important for him to rescue his mother from Hades.…
In the book Percy's personality is sometimes calm and normal like when Annabelle was feeding him the popcorn pudding and when he was playing pinochle with Chiron.…
Percy, in a fit of rage for the miotaur that not only kidnapped his mother, but injured Grover as well, manages to kill the minotaur after breking off its horn; after the minotaur's defeat, Percy dragged Grover over a hill before falling unconscious on a doorstep. When Percy awoke the following morning, he was met by the beautiful grey-eyes of Annabeth Chase, and finds out he is in a place called Camp Half Blood, where demigods of all sorts gather in one, protected location. This is where Percy is given his quest to clear his name when he is accused of stealing Zeus's Master Bolt, and how Percy meets his father Poseidon, who is one of Zues's two brothers; the other being Hades. Percy is later accused of stealing the Helm of Darkness, which belongs to Hades, but Percy figures out that the thief of not just the Helm, but the Master Bolt as well is none other than Luke, who is the son of the god Hermes; the god of message carrying and thievery. Percy successfully proves himself innocent at the end of the novel, showing that he has come a long way from just being some troubled kid; Percy started out as a troublemaker who always had the courage to defend Grover, who was often bullied, but as Percy goes on, he becomes more and more…
