We are introduced to Perseus “Percy” Jackson, a seemingly boring kid, with dyslexia and troubles making friends. An argument could be made that the first call was in the museum when he was attacked by the Fury, telling him to confess. Not a literal call, but rather a sign by fate that something is happening, the first touch of Percy with the world of the gods. The literal call to adventure of the story is at a rather late part, Percy was already part of Camp Half-blood, and his father, Poseidon, had already claimed him. I mean, the title of the chapter is literally “I Am Offered a Quest”. Not really much to explain there.…
There were many characteristics of Percy Jackson that were similar to those of Greek Heroes. Like many Greek Heroes, Percy went on a great and dangerous journey and like most Greek Heroes, he had the courage and strength to do this. Because of this, Percy is most like Perseus, Odysseus, and Theseus.…

Percy’s experiences goes through the steps of The Hero’s Journey. First of all,”The Hero’s Journey” first step is Separation and percy gets separated from every field trip he is on because is a troubled kid . Percy feels out of place being on field trips because on every field trip something weird or unlucky happens to him and only to him. For Example, on his fifth-grade school,he had an accident with a Revolutionary War Cannon and ended up accidently hitting the school bus. Being a Half-Blood makes him not normal. Furthermore, The second step is to call to adventure and percy got in trouble and had to go with Mrs.Dodds.When percy reached up with Mrs.Dodds told…

Since the group needed the second pearl they had to find it in a museum. They saw a giant statue of a Athena in the center of the room. The pearl was on her crown, it was too busy to take it that moment so they had to stay after hours. They used the flying shoes Luke loaned them to get it. They had it but they saw five janitors, who said to Percy, “give us the lightning bolt Percy Jackson.” He ran and they all turned into a three headed dragon. Percy dropped the pearl, he needed a distraction to be able to get it. So Annabeth started to call it names and ran. He almost got it when they breathed fire, he used the shield Luke gave him to protect himself. He used his water powers to break the fountains and splash all water on the beast. Percy cut off its heads, but he didn't know they grew back but with more. Now it had six heads! They got the pearl and ran towards the door when it was about to blow fire at them. Grover took out Medusa’s head and showed it to the beast. It turned to rock and they left. Thank goodness he was with his friends or he would have been doomed.…
Percy Jackson is the main protagonist of the last Olympian. Percy isn’t greed at because he turned down god hood. “Oh, not you although I suppose I should wonder turning down immorality” (Riordan, 355) after defeating Kronos he was given a offer to be a god. He is also funny “With great power... comes great need to take a nap. Wake me up later”. Making funny remark and one liner makes him a funny character in general, this funny one liner was said after he obtained the curse of Achilles and they were outside the underworld. Percy is also caring for his friends and he would do anything to protect them. "You're cute when you get worried; your eyebrows get all scrunched together."(Riordan, 199) this was after Percy’s friend Annabeth was fatally…
been surprisingly quiet. Not a single monster has set foot on his New York pup Mhuul campus. hit when an innocent game of dodge among Percy and his classmates turns into a death match against an ugly gang of cannibal giants, things get . . . well, ugly. And the unexpected arrival of his friend Annabeth brings more bad news: the magical borders that…
In “The Loss of the Creature,” Percy focuses on how one perceives something before actually witnessing it based on the opinions of others. The value of the place or idea is already preconceived due to the fact that we are so caught up in time that we overlook the entire experience as a whole. Or being that we are so focused on the option on an object from someone else, we miss the whole concept or what it’s true meaning or “beauty” as Percy state’s is. We lose the ability to make our own decisions because we base them off of someone else’s viewpoints. Using an example of a movie that I experienced shows Percy’s point.…
Distinctive voices are an imperative device of language as there are various types and functions of voices in texts. The way language is used to create voices in texts and to show how it is used to express the interpretation and to shape the meaning of distinctive voices, I will be using examples from crime fiction text, “The life and Crimes of Harry Lavender” by Marele Day, which both supports and subverts the traditionally male hard-boiled detective through inferential choices of language. I will be focusing on the distinctive voices of Claudia Valentine, and Harry Lavender. My related text is Hitler's Proclamation to the German Nation in Berlin which was orated on the 1st of February, 1933, which shows the depth of his obsession and the power of self-delusion.…
Do you know who said "From her first day, Mrs. Dodds would point her crooked finger at me and say Now, honey"? It was Percy Jackson, the protagonist of The Lightning Thief. Percy Jackson's personality was very confused, because he wanted to know where he was , and what was going on. In the book Percy was confused because he was questioning on every thing, the weather, Grover, where he was. He wanted to know why people wanted to kill him.…
Imagine being a demigod and able to heal from water. That is what Percy Jackson can do in The Sea of Monsters. They obtained their demigod powers from their god or goddess parent. Percy Jackson and his demigod buds are descendents from greek god or goddesses. The Puritans would abhor the novel The Sea of Monsters due to characters disrespecting authority, having superhuman powers, and being self reliant.…
Many people would like to be able to have the power to control water with your mind. This was put to the test by New York Times #1 Best-Selling author Rick Riordan, who created the character Percy Jackson. Percy Jackson is evolved in Riordan’s award winning series “The Olympian” and “The Heroes of Olympus”. Jackson is the son of the Greek god Poseidon and a mortal, making him a demigod (half human, half God). Throughout his fictional life Jackson has experienced many ups and downs to become an idolized romantic hero.…
