Performance Assessment Framework Of The NHS
The National Health Service (NHS) Performance Assessment Framework document should be used to monitor service delivery against plans for improvement across six areas. These being:
• Fair access
• Effective delivery of appropriate care
• Efficiency
• Patient/ carer experience
• Health outcomes of the NHS.
The Performance Assessment Framework should assist the NHS to work to improve the health of the population and should provide better care and outcomes for the people who use its services by encouraging action across the above six areas. It will, also, be used to assess how the NHS is doing to deliver this work (NHS Performance Assessment Framework).
Performance Indicators support the framework and should be used to draw attention to issues
