Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Literature Analysis
In the chapter first, an overview of drives and the control technique is presented. This chapter deals with the literature review in Permanent Magnet synchronous Motor. There are many existing techniques associate with PMSM like modeling, different control techniques, as discuss in lot of papers and in texts, but the basic idea is same. Several research papers and review articles are published on various aspects topologies and control techniques. In this chapter, an attempt is made to present the up to date literature survey related to Permanent magnet Synchronous Motor and the control techniques.

LITERATURE REVIEW

The schemes mainly focus on drive operation on sensorless control. In a different hybrid vehicle application, the PMSM must be able to change torque and speed, including near zero speed with large torque and at a higher speed, thus using field weakening techniques is proposed by Oskar wallmark, (2004) [7].
Christos et.al (2002) proposed a loss minimization method for vector controlled interior PMSM drives has been presented in his paper “Loss Minimization in Vector-Controlled Interior Permanent-Magnet Synchronous Motor Drives”. Based on motor loss model, a condition to obtain the optimum value of I_d(direct axis current) to accompaning losses minimization of interior PMSM drives was derived. The suggested controller uses the signals of rotating speed, I_qand optimal I_d is specified by means of the loss minimization condition.

Different microcontrollers like TMS320F2803X are also used which enables the commercial design of smart controllers for three phase motors by reducing system components are increases efficiency. There are lots of papers which presents comparison of different controller in a same control method. Some authors proposed a Hybrid PI Controllers which is ultimately faster and less severe.
Based on literature review it can be said for existing work that there is still hope for improvements.
In this thesis we analyzed the variations in parameters like as maximum overshoot, settling time and Total Harmonic Distortion of current by changing the values of rotor speed, mechanical load torque and tuned circuit of PI Controller. Next chapter is about Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor and its mathematical modeling and the circuit

The experimental setup is shown in Figures 5 and 6. Shows the GA-PID and ACO-PID controllers for a 3-phase 60KW SRM motor which are implemented & simulated by using Matlab-Simulink software program. Motor parameters used for simulation are given in Table 1. Tables 2 and 3 shows the GA-PID and ACO-PID controller’s parameters. the response of Kp, Ki and Kd parameters are summarized on table 4 which shows that the proportional controller “Kp” will have the effect of reducing rise time and will reduce the steady state error while the integral controller “Ki” will have the effect of eliminating the steady state error but will have the worst transient response on a system while the derivative…

When taking in consideration the future selling strategy of Minnesota Motors we decided to choose between the two aspects we considered to be the more important ones: Price or Quality. In a general way we observed that the segments that preferred quality over price (less price-sensitive) were segment A, B and C and the ones that preferred price over quality (very price-sensitive) were segment D and small-Volume customers.…

Hybrid is a kind of technology that applies to vehicles which enables them to use two or more distinct power sources to move the vehicles. As a branch of hybrid vehicles, hybrid electric vehicles (HEV) are more advanced which combines a conventional internal combustion engine propulsion system with an electric system. As HEV is the major focus of our hybrid revolution studying project, we should first take a look into the operating principle of it.…
