Perrault's Master Cat: Puss In Boots

In contrast to, “Master Cat: Puss in Boots”, the cat is only helping his master so he does not get killed. Whenever his master first receives him, he is disappointed that he only got a cat. His master was thinking that he could only, “..Eaten the cat and make a muff from its skin..” (Perrault 46). The cat did not want to be killed, so he helped his master to gain riches and power by tricking the monarch. His master was now going to marry the princess and become part of the monarch, and have all the riches in the land of France. The cat did not have to hunt for rats or mice anymore. The cat has now become, “a great lord” (Perrault 50). The cat does not have to worry about being killed or skinned by his master. The cat uses trickery of others
