Persepolis Themes
Persepolis is a great read for teenagers.It is a graphic novel by Marjane Satrapi.It is a story of her childhood in Iran.Persepolis is also a memoir. There are many themes in the book. Marji changes in many different ways throughout the book.
Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi is a memoir and a graphic novel. Satrapi chose this format because it gives more of an image of what she is trying to tell you. For example, on page 15, on the top square in Persepolis there is a picture of a town with trees, firemen, fire trucks, and a building on fire.This example is significant because it shows how Iran would have looked like during this violence.Another reason why she chose this format is because “They attract reluctant readers”(The Alan Review).Those …show more content…
