    3. “These people out there don’t know it yet, but there about to go to church.” I like this one because it reminds me of school and more specifically my Engineering teacher, Coach G. he always lectures to us and sometimes even points out that he’s preaching to us, he even has his own “Bible” on how to do well in the class. But outside his call church can be a lot more than that, since religion is a lot of what people believe just from growing up. And overall that’s what the “I Have a Dream” speech was, a trip to church.…

Not just to have an ordinary speech, but one that grasps people and pulls them in all you need to have is persuasion also known as Ethos, Logos, and Pathos. Ethos refers to the speaker’s credibility. There are three important characteristics: character, competence and charisma. Logos is evidence that supports any claim the speaker makes in their speech. Pathos is known as a strong component of successful persuasion. Pathos is also when you appeal to the listeners’ emotions. Verbal communication is the exchange of meanings by the use of the written or spoken symbols of a language. Non verbal communication is includes any symbolic behavior that is either intentionally or unintentionally sent. I believe the speech “I’ve Been to the Mountaintop” given By Dr. Martin Luther King is a great example of Ethos, Logos, and Pathos, verbal and non verbal communication. This speech, was giving on April 3, 1968 at the Mason Temple in Memphis, Tennessee, This was Martin Luther Kings last public appearance before his assassination the following day. “I’ve been to the mountaintop” was a strong and influential sermon.…

The only times I have ever given speeches in my life have been in high school. Junior year I had to take a speech class and I only remember one speech in particular. I did a persuasive speech on euthanasia where I was basically arguing for the right to die. This speech is the most memorable because we spent a lot of time researching our topics, and I loved this topic. Although it was a hard topic to think about I really enjoyed reading about it and getting to share the information with my class. I especially enjoyed learning about the history behind euthanasia, so focused my speech around it. Since it was a persuasive speech I used many examples of how euthanasia was used before and how it helped a lot of people through history.…
