Personal Essay: Close Adaptations For Movies

Stephen King once said, “Amateurs sit and wait for inspiration, the rest of us just get up and go to work.” Now, this essay has to be about dreams, and you’re probably wondering what this quote has to do with dreaming, and I’ll tell you. When growing up, I used to get so angry that I could never remember if I had dreamed the previous night or not. Until one day, I realized that it wasn’t necessarily a bad thing because it meant that I wasn’t wasting my time chasing after something that would never happen. For example, a really crappy singer thinking to themselves that, “one day, just one day, if I try really, really hard, my dream might come true;” and then they spent their lives wanting something that just isn’t gonna work for them. So, overall, what I’m trying to say is that I never dream.
