Personal Essay: Kid In The US
Kid in the U.S. spend hours upon hours on school work, hours more on homework and yet more on music lessons. Terribly boring. Right? Actually kids here do plenty of thing that are awesome. We like to play with friends, family and also just play by themselves. We enjoy doing things such as electronics, sports, and, of course, movies. Who says us kids don't know how to have fun. I like to play with friends a lot. We like to play sports such as baseball, basketball and soccer. My favorite is baseball. We also enjoy birthdays. U.S. birthdays usually include games, presents, pizza and a giant cake. Best of all is sleepovers we play board games, watch movies, and eat more pizza. Friends can be very fun. Kids also like to spend time with family.

    An American Childhood, by Annie Dillard, is a happy memoir of Annie's own life, a child of a well-to-do Pittsburgh family. The activities she had as a child, such as piano lessons and dance class, show her family’s wealth. Instead of having to work as a child she shares stories of fun and learning.
