My childhood in South Africa has taught me many meaningful things I had not realized the significance of until later in my life, growing up in America. I have found a place in my heart for the values I was taught as a South African citizen along with the American values I have come to care for. I have a deep aspiration to never forget the experiences of my life in South Africa. Through my actions everyday I attempt to pay homage to the important values my experiences have provided me. I am thankful for my opportunities in life that have led me to where I am today. Leaving my childhood home and moving to America was completely life changing and a drastic culture shock for me. However, I recognize that event in my life for what it has given me. Moving to the United States has changed my path in life and given me more chances to become the person I want to be. It was hard changing paths so suddenly but the challenge was important in determining my future. My next big milestone in my life that I am eager to begin is arriving very soon.
