Personal Essay: The Dangers Of Train Track

There are many dangers with trains and similar vehicles. We need to always exercise caution around areas there is even the slightest potential for them to be present. Trains go really fast and can do some pretty gnarly damage. If we aren’t careful we can get smashed by these large vehicles. I think that the most important rule about trains, is always exercise caution when near a train track. These trains often do not run on a schedule so there is no telling when exactly they may approach you. I think that it is definitely worth the wait just to be safe. I am pretty cautious so I have never crossed a train track when the lights went off, even if I thought I had time. I think that more people need to be careful about how they respect these warnings
Often times this is not true. I believe that more people need to be aware of this so that way they don’t hurt themselves, their passengers, or their vehicles. You do not even have to be driving in a car to be taking a risk crossing a railroad track or being on a TRAX track. I have seen people cross railroad tracks and even jump over the connectors between the cars. It always amazes me how crazy that is. I have even seen people hop down on the tracks and goof around. I have also seen people get in trouble with the police officers for this. If I’ve learned one thing from driving, it’s that I’d rather get there safe, even if that means driving slower, and being cautious. This includes having high caution around railroads. I found it interesting how in the video it discussed that you should not have any objects past the yellow line as well. I honestly never thought about that. I mean think about it. You could be holding a skateboard across the line and if it gets hit, you are likely to fall over and possibly fall into the track well.
