Personal Narrative: A Career As A Writer's High
Inspiration comes at the oddest of times. This week a fellow writer inspired me to kick it into high gear. After taking this semester off from College I realized I have an insane amount of free-time which is actually driving me bat shit crazy. My boyfriend and my friend both suggested I use this time to work on my writing. Even my writer friend said she was sending me "all the luck in the universe!" She is a very talented writer but most of all she is a very upbeat person and amazing friend. Sometimes, I call her my muse because something she'll say will spark an idea in my mind and we bounce stuff off of each other leaving us both with great ideas.
Many writers like to write alone but knowing that while you are working on your story that a friend of yours is doing the same thing is very energizing and uplifting. It reminds me of people who walk into a room and bring a good feeling to everyone around them. Except, this feeling is like a Writer's High. A Writer's High is this incredible feeling you get when you are into your story and cannot stop writing as if adrenaline is pumping through you non-stop. It's the feeling that gets writers through their books and past all the blocks trying to stop them.

She has had more time than I to craft her writing and I could never let that go to waste. I'd want to take the people with me that I care most about, those who I know will be able to handle the business. This world would lose something if they left writers like her undiscovered. As for my writing, I have been working on several books but there are 2 main ones that I am determined to finish soon before I go back to classes and finishing my BA degree. I have been spending countless hours devoted to my writing while still studying to take the LSAT. Its a strange pairing, but it works for

Renae has spent the last 20 years as the creative brain behind her company’s intranets and internal software. That’s how she pays the bills. However, she’s constructed a two-lane highway to get to her destination and her writing is in a lane of its own. With a full-time job, Richelle can only dedicate part-time hours to write. She said her favorite time to fully commit to creativity is on Saturday mornings when her family is usually still in bed. “I can get more done in three hours on a Saturday morning than I can at any other time of the week, so I try to take advantage of that.”…

I have accomplished a great deal in the past three months. As the semester ends I find myself reflecting not only on how I have survived the first semester but also what I have learned. Writing is hard work. There is so much more to it than just writing an interesting story. I also learned another important lesson; just because I worked hard on an essay before presenting it and reviewed the daylights out of it did not mean it was ready for submission. Every time I went back to read it I found new changes, typos and other mistakes I had missed before.…

In the past a thousand weeks, I feel like I have accomplished a great deal. As the quarter ends, I find myself reflecting not only how I have survived my fifth quarter but also what I have learned. The most important thing I have learned so far is how to become a better writer. I did not think it could really happen to me. I did not think I could handle all the work. I did not think I could actually become a better writer. Somehow, after all the hours of writing, and putting effort into my papers that I wrote in this quarter, I became a better writer. I did this because I concentrated on two very important areas. With help from an awesome teacher and my partner, I have become a better writer by improving my skills in the areas of procrastination and content.…

I have been writing for a few years, I started writing stories in the sixth grade. It was my way of escaping reality. I love to write stories about fantasy worlds and life experiences. Asking me to describe myself as alone is a hard question, but asking me to describe myself as a writer is harder one. I am a beginner writer, who has talent but still has improvement to make in every which way. I am very hard on myself when it comes to writing, and every time I write I believe it's horrible. Other's say different. As for a few of my friends say that I write what I feel and my feeling can take several pages. I like to write and I write…

My high school graduating class consisted of 66 students, so obviously everyone knew everyone and unfortunately everyone’s business. When I was a junior, a well-known and liked senior boy had a very public breakup with his girlfriend of 3 years. They had met as freshmen and were expected to marry after finishing school. The next day he drove his car at what police estimated in excess of 100 miles per hour into a concrete railroad bridge that crossed the main road out of town. After that, the bridge became known as Burkett’s bridge and I was never able to drive through it without getting a chill and goosebumps on my arms. It’s been over 40 years since high school, and it is amazing how often I still think of Bobby and his…

I remember, when I was younger, that I wasn't fond with the idea of writing. I remember after writing out paragraphs upon paragraphs my hands always hurting and my brain exhausted from all the mental thinking and processing of writing. However, I would have this feeling; this sensation when I would write with thought, with passion and I carved it. However, it was hard to find a place that was felt the same kind of passion that I felt for writing and could help hone my writing. Then, I found out about BISFA that could help me with my writing, but my English teacher, who was supportive in my decision, told me a question all writers should always themselves, Why do you write? I figured that I would have an answer, but it I didn't. However, it…

My writing history is all over the place. I took Honors English my eleventh grade year, and loved it but took AP English my senior year and hated it. Mr. Palmer, who taught honors, was my favorite English teacher. He let us write about whatever came to mind on Fridays, whether we were ranting about classes or just had a fun story to tell. My favorite part about him is that he actually taught me how to write. My AP teacher did not improve our writing but only critiqued it. In my opinion, you can always learn how to write better. Even with being in AP I wish she fixed my writing more than just giving me a grade. More than half our students failed the English exam and the national average was a 2 on a scale of 5. So, within the past year writing…
