THUMP! The ball was hit into deep left, and it had some distance to it. The infield stared as the ball made contact with the bat and rocketed over their heads. They probably should have covered their base or gone out and get the ball from the outfield but they knew that it was all or nothing. The outfield would determine the fate of the game. The left fielder ran and ran. Finally, the ball came down from space and into the Blake Lindsly’s sure handed glove. Out number two. He looked at the pitcher with an expression that said dodged a bullet there. The team erupted into laughter. Even the coach joined in. Sure, the game was intense, but baseball was a fun game and it took plays like that to have fun.…
The game is off to a slow start as both teams punt on there first possesion. I must say though, Len Dawson and Bart Starr are looking good. However both defenses aren't budging an inch, now the Packers are moving up field in this impressive second drive! Touchdown! Bart Starr throws to receiver Max McGee for the first score of the game. After a sucsessful field goal the Packers are up seven to nothing. The cheifs answer back moving the ball 66 yards in just six plays! Were all tied up seven to seven. But on the next drive Packers move the ball 73 yards downfield to take back the lead. The crowds roar in this coliseum is deafening, I can barely hear my own thoughts. Now, the Cheifs trying to get some momentum…
Monday- I am ready to stat week 4!! I like being in the office but I prefer being in the back. It entirely too much drama going on in here today. The woman training me is really on her last strike and she just seems to be getting on everyone nerves (including mines). I look forward to a better tomorrow.…
One rainy day two girls named Lisa and Erin were driving to Colorado because they rented a cabin for the weekend. When they got to Colorado they stopped at the gas station for so gas. Lisa asked the cashier if they were going in the right direction to the cabin? The cashier said that they were going the right way but would take a will to get there. They spent three hours driving and then they see a sign that says Summer Lake Forest on it. Erin checked her phone to see if they where in the right spot and it said they were.…
In the Fall of 2010, I watched my first televised football game from beginning to end. I sat down beside my older brother, Nick, and watched him as he analyzed every play of a Green Bay Packers game. He would scream at the tv when a bad play happened but would rejoice when a good one followed. I wanted to be just like him and know everything about football. I watched every game that season and annoyingly asked Nick every question that came to mind throughout the year. On February 6th, 2011 the Green Bay Packers won their 4th Superbowl title and I knew football like the back of my hand. After the game my brother said to me, “There’s no way you could ever not be a Packers fan now. You’re their good luck charm.” as I nodded, smiling ear to ear.…
Growing up in the Deer Run area I detested wilderness. I went to an elementals school by the name of Pete Gallego; it is located on the outskirts of Eagle Pass and we didn't have to go far to see vast wilderness. To the students of Pete Gallego Elementary, wilderness was a barren wasteland that only homed rattlesnakes and hares. We saw it every day at recess; there were mesquite trees, more mesquite tree and believe it or not a few hundred more mesquite trees. They weren’t even the green ones; they had this dirty grey hue to them, as if they had been bleached by years of children’s tears. So when my sixth grade teacher gave us the project of, “take time out of your day to look at and appreciate nature.” I was livid; I was not going to walk around this desert and risk my life to appreciate sadness and sorrow. Little did I…
I used to love reading. In kinder and first, my nose was stuck in a Magic Tree House book. Third, fourth, and fifth grade I basically lived at Hogwarts (in my rightfully sorted house, of course, I am a proud Hufflepuff). And in middle school, I discovered THE tween series of my generation, Maximum Ride. Reading was exciting, and even though I had done it for years every time I picked up a book it felt so novel. I was your ordinary bookworm until seventh grade when the joint power of Ms. Green’s teaching and James Patterson’s writing broke my will to read.…
I was about 10, and me and my family were at the Wild Goose Ranch. I was at the time wondering how it felt to be underground. At that time, the idea of mining fascinated me. So, me, Kaila, Josh, and Bre were at the park in the Goose Ranch.…
“LET’S GO BOYS!!!! LET’S WIN THIS!!! BEAT THESE RAVENS!!!!!!” The crowd was screaming and chanting wildly as we began to run out of the locker rooms and onto the large football field. I lead them, raising my arms up and down to signal the crowd to get louder with their cheers. As I did this, I was also sprinting to the middle of the field through the large slit that was cut for my eyes. I turned back to the crowd in the stands, and the players ran around me, with smiles of their faces, to get to their positions and the bench. I started to jump and raise my arms, “ FROGGY!!! FROGGY!!! FROGGY!!!” They all chanted my name in union, some of them even had signs and horns! A large smile crept onto my face behind my large mascot mask, and I couldn’t…

One Monday night my dad and I were fighting about who was going to win the Super Bowl. We fell asleep and lighting stuck our house. I woke up in my dad’s body. I screamed and he came running into his room. We stood there and just look at each other like what do we do now.…
There was more than one champion on the day of Super Bowl XLVII. When I was in 8th grade, my family hosted a Super Bowl party. My family and our guests had a Super Bowl pool. Two dollars were collected from each guest and the winner, my friend Conor, left that night with $40. This enjoyable night sparked my interest in gambling on sports.…
As a student I find myself seated in front of a computer screen for long hours at a time; likewise, it is my obligation as a student to use technology as a resource to further my comprehension in my degree. In my opinion a good excuse to be seated in front of a computer for long hours. It is easy to say that I find a lot of inspiration form online sources, blogs, and social media – which I do – however, I feel most inspired when I step away from the computer screen. I find inspiration in the ordinary; I love to travel and see new things, in this case this is where I found my inspiration. Along my travels to Whistler Mountain in previous winters I saw a portion of land that was clear-cut, but one tree stood alone covered in snow. This piece…
It was an extremely cool day in the Poconos Mountains, and we had made a reservation to go white water rafting. The next morning we had to wake up extra early to eat breakfast so we weren’t late for our trip. When my parents said, “were going white water rafting” I thought we were going straight down to the river , but of course it wasn’t.…
The next morning we parked our coolers and headed to the stadium. It was time to do some serious tailgating! This was an amazing experience the fans were awesome and so much fun. The time has come. Time to enter the stadium to watch the Greenbay Packers play the Chicago Bears. Now, at this point, I haven’t been in the stadium. The sound of 78,000 fans cheering on their teams was totally awesome. We found our seats and settled in to watch the big game, with a beer and a couple of hot dogs of course. When Greenbay came onto the field the crowd went nuts. The experience of watching a game in real life as opposed to television was an experience I can’t explain. It gave me…
