Personal Narrative: A Trip To President Thomas Jefferson

Last year, I was one of three high school Juniors chosen by my local electric cooperative to join students from across Arkansas in a trip to Washington D.C. During this trip, our group visited all the usual tourist spots in Washington: the Capitol Building, the Lincoln Memorial, and the Smithsonian among others. But of the sites we visited, the ones that affected me most were the places related to President Thomas Jefferson. Previous to this trip, I knew very little about Jefferson, and even wondered what he did to deserve a place on Mount Rushmore. However, this trip exposed me to Jefferson in an entirely new way.
