Personal Narrative: All-Star Football
It was a hot summer day in Rayville,Louisiana. My 12 year old All-Star season was going great, even though we had only played a few games. Little did I know that this game would change my whole baseball career.

The team would always get there an hour early so we could stretch and hit in the cage. We were noticeably the best team in the tournament. The coach of the team was a smart guy, he wanted to win but he didn’t want to embarrass anybody. This game didn’t really mean anything, and not to mention we were playing the worst team there.

We were all at the batting cages, being serious but having fun. There was a kid on the team named Matt, Matt was known for hitting home runs that were high and far. Me and Matt were talking and he randomly

When I was in eighth grade one of my childhood dreams came true. I made the little league all-star team for the first time in my life. As I sat with the rest of the kids at the closing ceremonies of the regular season, I was not at all expecting my name to be called when the names of the select few players who made the all-star team were being announced. When they did call my name, I hesitated at first not knowing what to do. I was overcome by the awe of making the team. One of my friends told me to go up to the trophy stand where the coach of the all-star team was standing and accept my jersey, so I did. It took a while for it to really sink in that I had made the team, but when it did I was extremely delighted.…

Everybody from the team was there at the field. If you looked at our team you might think that we were just a bunch of small town screw-offs. We definitely gave the other team that impression as we warmed up. Our team didn’t take things too seriously. In the batting cages, we practiced our home run swings, and trots. The infielders, including me, bare handed the ground balls hit to us by one of the coaches, and jump threw the ball back to the first baseman pretending we were young Derek Jeters. The outfield dove at every ball that was hit at them. Even if the ball was coming straight at them, they ran back and come forward again so they could dive and get the ball. Yes, we were a bunch of…

It was the middle of the summer and I was playing baseball in Jackson, Mississippi. I was playing for the Goodlettsville All-Stars. We were playing in the little league 10u world series. To get to the championship we had to win 8 games and it was single elimination. We had won 7 out of 8 games and we were playing our 8th game and it was the bottom of the third and I was playing left field. In the second inning I was felling drowsy so my dad gave me a Snickers and a Red Bull. I was for sure not drowsy anymore. I could feel the sugar rushing through my veins and I was on the balls of my feet waiting for the pitch to be thrown. When my pitcher threw the ball I had my hand in my glove ready for the ball if it was hit to me. WHAM! The ball was hit so far up in the air it looked like it hit the sun. When I realized that the ball was coming to me I was way too far back so I had to run as fast as I could and dive for the ball. I jumped as far as I could and stretched as far as I could. I barely caught it by snow coning the ball. Everybody was so proud of me that the screamed as loud as they could. We went on to win the game 4-1. The next day I woke up, jumped out of the bed, and put my uniform on. I was so excited, I was in the championship! I…

When I stood at the bottom I did not think I could make it. half way up, I knew that I could not make it. Now, standing at the top, I look behind me at the amazing challenge that I have just conquered. Not only is the hill at Eau Claire an infamous feat that every student must traverse, but it is also a metaphor for every hardship that has entered into my life. One hardship I have faced, was my sports injuries during high school. My junior year track season started off being the best experience i’ve had. Unfortunately, this time was cut short. I ripped a ligament in my leg ending my entire spring season. I was angry at the world asking, “why me”. However, I knew I still had a team depending on me. Day in, and day out, I would show up to practice…

Good Evening Mr. Forrest, this is Sean Anderson. I wanted to send this report involving the girl's basketball coach from Northeast Middle School. Me and Jason Collins were the officials at West Creek Middle School vs Northeast Middle School. The games started at 4:45. During the second game, which was the girl's basketball game, my partner Jason Collins made a ruling against Northeast in the 4th quarter. The girl's head coach did not like the ruling and venting her frustrations toward us. She screamed" her player was not there for the foul". While I was administering the free throws I heard her screaming and gave her the stop sign signal and told her ok that's enough. I didn't administer no technical foul even though she continue…

It is a rainy Friday night and it is the middle of November. That was unusual for California weather. It is the fourth quarter and the Mustangs are down by one field goal. This is the California State Championship Game. Jack Dawson comes to the huddle. Jack is the quarterback and he is a tall African American. He tells the whole team what we’re going to do. I am Matt Moore and I play halfback for the Mustangs. Jack and I have been best friends since middle school. The amity we have had led to our great success on the football field. Everybody loves us and we are pretty successful in school. Now back to the game. Jack tells us, “The games on the line and I need Matt to block and Bob to go deep.” Next thing I know Jack gets the ball and Bob goes running down the field. I hurry up and start blocking but one linebacker ten times my size trucks me over. Then Jack went down and we lost the game.…
