Personal Narrative: Dodea School
I’ve lived in the same place for nine years. I really only know England. Due to that, I have never been to a public school. From kindergarten to now, I’ve been in Dodea schools. I met my best friends Ashleigh, and Kerry in kindergarten. We got lucky and were in the same class from then to fourth grade. Sadly, Kerry moved at the end of third grade, and Ashleigh moved winter break of fourth.
Other than Mildenhall Air Force Base, we’ve been stationed on two other bases. We we have been stationed in Tinker, Oklahoma and Fairchild, Washington. We were stationed in Tinker for four years, and I was only there for six months, then we got sent to Fairchild. Instead of flying, we drove to Washington in our tiny car with my older brother and our two
dogs that we had at the time. We were stationed Fairchild for four years as well.
Each year I have been lucky enough to go and visit Ashleigh, Kerry, and some other classmates. I have gone to see her every year since she moved. Each time I go, i fly by myself. At first it was scary now I’m used to it.I will only be able to see her for a few days this summer but it’s better than nothing. Of the four years that I’ve gotten to visit her, I’ve only gotten to see Kerry once.
My eighth grade has been the best year of middle school. Don’t get me wrong, seventh grade was great, but I’ve made the best of friends and been enjoying my classes. Sixth grade was really bad for me. I didn’t really enjoy my classes because of my teachers and it was all new to me. I also got bullied pretty bad and didn’t have a lot of friends to lean on or talk to it about. My other friend got bullied as well because we hung out a lot. So this girl started to spread rumors about us.
I think this summer is going to be really tough for me because most of my friends are PCSing. Plus, my brother is going to college and my dad is deploying. Two of my really close friends are staying here till 2018. I recently found out that we are moving that wear instead of 2017. That was pretty good news I guess. One of the girls that is PCSing is moving to Ramstein, Germany so she can come visit occasionally which is good.
