It started off like everyday for every beagle working in the airport. A beagle’s life working in the airport is mainly using our acute sense of smell to sniff out any meats or plants that could possibly carry diseases or pests. I work in the Beagle Brigade at the Tay Airport. The Beagle Brigade is a team of beagles, and human handlers that search for prohibited agricultural products, and unauthorized meats. From what I’ve heard my owner says that without us our foods wouldn’t be safe, and there can be diseases that can be introduced in the U.S.To make it simple, without us humans wouldn’t be safe at all.…
Phil Robinson is a Philadelphia naïve, at a young age he was introduced to fashion by his father. His father was very strict on presenting yourself in a classy stylish way. He was about his boys looking neat, being clean and well groomed as we grew from boys to men. I took that guidance and as I got older I decided it was something I wanted to share with just not my son, but with many others also. Style is in my blood, I've been doing it for years for family, friends, etc. Helping kids is my passion and always has been. So here is just my small avenue where I can combine both of the things that I enjoy most to create a positive…
Throughout my entire life, I have found that hard work and dedication can help me achieve any goal that I set. I have overcome the separation and lack of decent parents, incarceration of my oldest brother, and many other events with the morals and skills that were taught to me by my grandparents (who are my legal guardians). Due to their influence and love, I have always put my best foot forward and looked at the world with optimism. Since the second grade, I have been in gifted/honor courses, exceeded through my classes, and have made many friends. My backbone does not consist of selfish desires or influences; it consists of my morals and the family and friends that I do have pushing me to change the world.…
Pow Pow Pow as the machine guns shot from The American Soldiers and myself. The first day of WW1 started and my friend Dave and I was sitting in the trenches.…
Pow! Right smack in my forehead crushing my skull. The metal baseball bat knocked in my skull. It was a warm sunny day in the middle of the summer. Joey, my brother, was hitting tennis balls over my house. Little 10 year old me was playing in the yard and my brother purposely pushed me far away so he wouldn’t hit me. Oh how I was a stupid little kid. I was intrigued by what he was doing so I started wandering over to like how not knowing little kids do. As I approached my brother he was so focused on himself that he did not see me. When I finally reached him he had just set up to hit another ball. He hits the ball, but on his back rotation, the bat makes contact with my head. I fell hard on the pavement. Before I went unconscious I heard my…
I'm not much of a dog-person. In fact, I'm pretty awkward around anyone, so creatures that crawl up and slurp all over my crotch are no exception.…
We stayed in the Grand Canyon International HotelHostel which costed $80 for all of us ($230 out of $500), we stayed one night and were off to our next stop, Needles, California. But it doesn’t stop there, we were committed to get to Los Angeles before heading home. Josh had fallen asleep this time with his favorite book in his hand (Ender’s Game), Dominik was asleep as well, he had traced the route with black sharpie so I wouldn’t get too lost, and. Me and HeavenHeaven and I were talking for what felt like an eternity., Itit was a good talk, a really good talk and. theThe best part about it was that The Part That Hurts The Most (Is Me) by Thousand Foot Krutch was playing on the radio, mine and her favorite song by them. It was wonderful, we were singing away, smiling and laughing at one another. I woke both of the other guys once we stopped at a rest stop for restroom breaks. Everyone but Josh went, he was adamant that he wanted to finish his book by the time we got to Needles. We also had lunch on the picnic tables there, just some ham and turkey sandwiches. Soon after that we were back on the road., Onceonce we reached Needles we filled up the tank which costed us $50 ($280 out of $500). We stayed at the Budget Inn-Needles motel which. Whi. ch costed us altogether a nice price of $98 ($378 out of…
My family dog is a hairless Chinese Crested named Sid. He is a gray, white, and black dog with no hair except on his head, paws, and the tip of his tail. We rescued Sid 8 years ago from Detroit, Michigan. His owners left him outside in the freezing cold when they moved away. They abandoned him. Adopting Sid changed my life forever. By caring for him, I have learned loyalty, responsibility, love, compassion, and patience. These are traits I see and feel within him as well. I believe animals mirror God’s hope and love for us. For example, God wants us to forgive others who have done us harm. Sid has forgiven his original owners by moving beyond the shy and fearful dog he was when we first brought him home. He is a happy and joyful dog now.…
If we had to pursue one of the first ten occupations we had ever imagined being as a child then I can guarantee you that I Veterinary Assistant wouldn’t have made the cut. As a child I was allergic to cats and afraid of most animals. With time I grew out of my allergies and became exposed to more animals to reduce the fear. My kid I only owned fish and frogs, and you can’t exactly do much with either of those animals so all I knew were caged animals at the zoo and my house.…
Every morning, after I see Renji off to office, I close the grill door behind me ,put a chain around and lock it……
It all began when a was a little boy and all I wanted was a dog, for years I begged and begged, and still no dog. I felt as if I was incomplete without one, I had even written persuasive essays in school on why I should get a dog and waited and just hoped for it. Finally, when I was in 5th grade, I found a church ministry where we met once month and came up with ideas to raise money for the local rescue. During the meetings, we would also go for a walk, those who had animals would walk them. One time, somebody from the rescue came with one of the rescue dogs for the walk, which inspired me to go to the rescue and check it out.…
I was never a dog lover. My kids always wanted a dog. I dug my heels in but eventually, they wore me down with chorus’ of “please can we get a dog?” Begrudgingly, I began looking for a dog. It was to be a Christmas present for my kids, an older dog, a trained dog. I knew that I did not have the patience for training and I knew that when kids say they will help; I knew exactly what that meant.…
When asked to write about a childhood experience most people think of the time they lost their first tooth when they were 6, or about the time they started school when they were 5, however, I’m going to write about summer. It wasn’t just any summer it was the summer that I went to the lake with my Dad and Papa. I was about 4 and couldn’t be any more excited about what was going to happen…
