In a small town down south of New Hampshire, there was a crystal shop. Crystals of every color lay in the palm of the miracle maker’s hand as Danny and I reach out to grab the one in the shape of a dolphin. The crystal shop was a weekly routine that Danny, my dad, and I pursued, like going to religious school or going to a soccer game. Our collection of crystal animals grew and grew each week.
The first eight years of my life was me, my dad, and Danny. I never real got to see my mom and sisters because they were in another town. My mom worked in Tewksbury while my sisters were watched and brought to daycare by my Grandmother. My best friend Danny and I basically lived together. We did everything together. He left our house at 9:00 every night and came at 6:30 every morning.

She appeared to be coloring with only an orange crayon. “We were forbidden to go down here so why is she here?” I asked Danny. Danny nodded his head and walked toward her, I followed. As we got closer she asked “ Why are you down here?” We responded “ Why are you?” She began to explain that she was thinking about escaping but she did not want to go alone. Danny and I agreed to go with her. As we stepped out of the door the sun was shining. We knew exactly where to go, across the street to Danny’s house. As we ran into his backyard our curious minds led us right to the tractor as we climbed up onto the torn-up leather seats. Once we saw all of the levers and buttons we could not help but push them. The tractor started rolling and Danny and I were two 5 year olds driving a tractor. Once Danny’s dad heard the tractor start up he ran outside to see us driving a tractor. He could not do anything but call the
