Once upon a time there was an angry dinosaur, who always stomped the flowers. His name was Hopping Henry and he had huge feet. Every day he would have a big plate of huckleberries and he hated it! Every day, he ate the same horrible huckleberries. Hoping one day his happy friend Harold would give him some ham.…
He goes to the hoop. He jumps, hanging in the air for what felt like eternity. It was his second game. Brought up from the D-League, he needed to prove himself. His name is Jeff “Elmo” Beige. As the ball is coming down, closer to the hoop another individual comes into play. The name is unnecessary to know, but the man is key to Jeff’s story. The man jumps. He didn’t have to, but he did it anyway. His six-foot ten body could have easily blocked the shot on Jeff’s six-foot five structure. As Jeff’s hand with the ball comes crashing toward the net the man’s hand makes contact with the ball. The ball doesn't even touch the rim. Rejected at the rim. Jeff’s career is over at that very moment. One block defined his whole basketball career. Such a dejected ending for a fantastic story.…
Emmett Till was a 14 year old African American boy who was murdered by white men. Those that knew Emmett said he was funny and responsible. He had polio at the age of 5, but was able to recover with only a slight stutter(source 3). Emmett’s nickname that only some of his friends called him was Bobo, and he was also a little chubby but he didn't let it affect him. He lived in a haven for black businesses, houses, and people, and went to a segregated school in Chicago. Emmett went to Mississippi to visit his cousins, after talking his mom into letting him go. But, that may have been the worst decision of his life, as he got murdered there because of his race, and he apparently “flirted” with a white women(source 3). Emmett was kidnapped by…
A search of Derrick Robinson’s cell phone was done and at 4:46 a.m. an incoming call was received from (910) 644-7834. The phone number was checked through several Police data bases with negative results. I then searched the phone number through Facebook and learned it was assigned to a J-Rock Ru. I then attempted to see if this was the same J-Rock that went to Emily Hamlin residence on the night of the Homicide.…

I was a camp counselor at Camp Wabikon ‒ a co-ed overnight summer camp located in Temagami, Ontario for children who are 6-15 years of age. Along with teaching Red Cross swimming and lifesaving and Tennis, I was my cabin's 'parent' for six weeks. Therefore, I was present with the children at all times. In essence, I was the leader of my cabin's the physical, social and mental development. The main things I learned were the importance of time management and organization , as I had to plan lessons for swimming and Tennis while taking care of my cabin; conflict resolution between campers; and the ability to plan and foresee events (I had to plan camp-wide events and activities for all campers).…

I traced the top of my model (with the help of my mom), and used that as a template to cut out the roof for my model. After that, I glued the roof on to the top of my model. My mom took me to Walmart to go buy a foam ball and some glue. When I got home, I cut the foam ball in half and glued it on the top of my roof. I also out some pieces to act as slanted roofs and glued those on to my roof. After that I cut out some triangle shaped pieces to go in front of the slanted roofs.…
Also, it just so happened to be the one day a year were Alan could get away with thinking and even acting out his disgustingly, depraved thoughts without feeling guilty about them. To Alan, Halloween was nothing more than a free pass. A pass he would get once a year that would allow him immunity to let his true self come forward and he could torment the world.…
Edward, a name only his mother used by the way, had just lost his job something that added substantially to his already rather low self-esteem. One of his friends, one of the very few he had left, managed to talk him into taking part in a search party looking for a girl that had gone missing up in the nearby mountains. Even though he had lived all his life in the shadows of the mountain range, he had actually never been up there. So just the thought of him taking part in this search and rescue mission without proper clothing, without a pair of decent boots looked more than a joke than anything else. The experience would however come to change his life fundamentally. He would come to find so much more than he set out to look for as it would…
When I was six, I was adopted. Not in the Anne of Green Gables kind of way, although ironically my middle name was named after her, or any other horrifying foster home route that most people think of when they hear that word. Nor was it some dramatic experience at the time. In fact, I remember being bored waiting in the judge’s office while the adults signed papers. Instead, my father left before I was born and I was half-adopted; one father’s name was wiped off my birth certificate and replaced by another.…
It was a typical Saturday morning in the Williamson household; I had woken up around 9 am and eagerly rushed upstairs to be greeted by the scent of hash browns cooking on the stove. My dad was standing by the stove and immediately swung around as he heard my footsteps, saying, “Oh, hello libes”. To clarify, “libes” is a nickname that originated from me making fun of my dad’s attempts to speak Spanish, there’s not much of a story or significance behind the names except they have stuck for two years now. Anyways, I casually answered my dad, “Oh hola libes”, and proceeded to approach my phone sitting on the nearby counter. I didn’t notice at the moment, but my dad was scowling as he watched me focus my eyes on the plastic screen as I checked my…
Jacob started his story with a statement on how his life changed as a result of one terrible event, and how that result was the product of his relationship with his grandfather. The close relationship Jacob had with Abe helped shape his identity due to the experiences they’d share and the stories Abe had told him. It is caused a shift in hid attitude throughout the journey he’d undertook after his grandfather’s death to find out who the man really had been. Throughout Miss Peregrine home of peculiar children, Jacob is forced to make important decision which uncovers the truth about his own identity, and how it differs from the man he always compared himself to Abe. Human identity reflects on the experiences they go through in life which helps them shape who they are as a person.…
My nose is overwhelmed with the smell of hairspray, baby powder, and a fruity perfume. There are too many girls in here, all struggling and fighting for a space near the mirror that covers the entire back wall. It’s dim in here, but it’s a good kind of dim, almost calming. The only light is coming from the round vanity bulbs that line the top of the mirrors, making it so that the fluorescents don’t impair what natural light reveals. I make my way to the red lockers on the right, squeezing past two of my fellow giggling cast-members as they try to make their way out the swinging door. After opening my locker, personalized with my name stickered on the front in purple sparkly letters, I get out my bulking make-up bag and curling iron. My eyes dart across the room in search of an available outlet, hoping one even still exists within the chaos. I look around the base of the walls near the white and blue tiled floor, trying not to get annoyed at all the hair straighteners that are just sitting there unused and warming. I roll my eyes and…
It was 22nd of December, 2001, my 10th birthday. As usual on every birthday when i was 10, my parents bought for me a super fancy bike. That was the best gift i’d ever had, but i was not suitable to receive it.…
