Personal Narrative Essay: New Jersey Vs. Alexander Gregory
Judge Judy Trent – a woman without a real father
Alexander Gregory
The door closed after the last defender and I brushed some hairs out of my face.
“Why can people not act normal?” I asked myself quietly and looked through the plan.
“Okay, everybody…The next one is a 16-year-old-boy.” said I and studied the case. The boy drove drunken. Feelings rushed in my mind – there was nothing that I hated more than drunken drive. I suppressed my thoughts and concentrated on my work.
The entrance opened again and three people went in – the lawyer, the mother, and the defendant. “Hello Janet.” I smiled at the woman.
“I haven’t seen you for a while. Still working at the home?” Janet and I shook hands and the three sat down.
“Well, let’s start.” I said after the witnesses came in, “Good morning, everybody. I’ve looked over the papers here, and in the case of New Jersey versus Alexander Gregory, the

The clock said 11 o’clock, in two hours it would be time for lunch and until then I had to declare about three sentences when all went well. I groaned and stood up to go to another courtroom. This would be a long day.

As wet as the November
After one week, I got my first letter from Alexander Gregory. The letter showed exactly my thoughts about the uneasy human-service, but this was not the point. The thing that made my curious was a name, a simple name. It made me hold on my breath and a lump was in my throat – I was literally shocked. Solomon Lewis. This was the old man Alexander Gregory cared about and he had the same name like my father.
“Calm down, Judy.” I muttered to myself and stood up to search the papers of Alexander Gregory.
Alexander Gregory, drunken driving, sentence: human-service… I found the page fast as well as the information about the nursing home. Without missing a beat, I called the home and asked for Mr Lewis.
“Egbert P. Johnson Memorial Home for the Aged, Ms Case speaking.” answered a fine female

A new year had just begun which was 1805; my family and I packed up and moved to a different state. The move wasn’t really by choice, but because the plantations had dried out and so had the money. Originally from Alabama, Mississippi, but we had just recently moved to Chesapeake, Virginia. I go by the name of Courtney Rich now, but in my past life I went by Courtney Bennett. It was very hard being a twenty four year old African American woman and married with a child in the eighteenth century.…

Drunk driving is defined as operating a motor vehicle after consuming alcohol. This is often caused by stupidity or even peer pressure. Your peers influence you a lot in a negative or positive way. In these two short stories by Rodney Stark and Theresa Conroy the characters fall under peer pressure, which leads to both a negative and positive outcome. Although these two stories are complete opposite from each other, through further analysis one can gather that you should be yourself and not follow in ones footsteps, be a leader.…

Drinking and driving is a gift put on earth by the almighty God. I mean why wouldn’t it be possible if he didn’t want us to do it? Alcohol is the greatest past time in Earth’s history. What’s not great about it? It can lead to vomiting, passing out, waking up in random people’s beds, and sometimes even death. Isn’t that four of the greatest feelings in the world? The death part mostly comes from the beautiful cause of drinking and driving. But don’t listen to what statistics say, keep doing it, because you know what they say, “Practice makes perfect.” There’s nothing better than getting into a car after fifteen beers and running head on into a tree and killing yourself. Unfortunately, the general population or I like the thought of someone getting behind the wheel under the influence and taking the lives of the innocent. So I’ve came up with a modest proposal to put an end to drinking and driving.…

Driving while intoxicated persists to be a major problem amongst teenage drivers. Although there are many precautions taken in order to prevent this type of activity, whether by the school, media or parents’, teens proceed to place themselves into these very high risk situations. These persistent behaviors drive us to look further into why teens partake in this type of activity or better yet what and who is influencing this age group. As asked by the principal I will attempt to explain this behavior using several theories of Human Development, including the theory of operant conditioning, the social learning theory and Erikson’s psychosocial theory.…

"About volunteering. I mean, I don't have any problems with killing kids, that's whatever. Hell, even a 5-year-old I think I could kill without losing too much sleep. But the whole having to be tethered to a little kid? Seems a little shady to me, I don't like it. And on top of that quells in general are bad news, careers haven't won one yet, and the arenas are all really wacky. I think I'll just wait, I can still volunteer next year and have a better chance of not dying in there."…

At midnight, blue lights pull into a mother’s driveway and uniformed officers walk to her front door. Automatically her heart drops and the horrendous fears run through her mind of scenarios of what may have happened to her child. Car accidents, fires, drugs, and shootings are of the norm in the United States in this time period. Once the door is opened and the questions are asked the mother’s worst fears are confirmed; she then is driven to the hospital to view the remains of her pride and joy. Drunk driving is an appalling practice, which is held to be completely normal and acceptable, regardless of the countless lives lost and impacted by the gruesome crime.…

The problems start when they have to go home in the car, because driving under the influence of alcohol is a cause of many accidents sometimes deadly, but they are not only young people to cause them, as seen in the case of the octogenarian drunk driver who ran over a cyclist San Clemente, fortunately without causing casualties.…

Bridget Ward, Lillian Galles, Justin Marain Mr. Villavicencio English 2 14 March 2013 Traffic Laws Cars are everywhere we go; in the city, in the country, and on the roads. They endanger our lives when we drink; when we are distracted, and when we speed. This is why we should get police to enforce traffic laws more strictly. If we get police to start enforcing the laws more strictly many lives could be saved, and there would be less accidents caused by lack of police involvement. More accidents happen when people drive under the influence. Driving under the influence is a hazard because you’re intoxicated and unable to concentrate on the roads and others around you. If we had more highway patrol then more people would be caught under the influence, therefore the roads would be much safer. We need more police to help our society keep our roads safe from intoxicated drivers. Although intoxication is a big reason for accidents on the road, distracted driving is another contributor to the high accident rates. When you are participating in anything other than your driving on the road then your mind is not one hundred percent focused on the task in front of you. In many cases of distracted driving the police notice it but don’t do anything about it, cops need to start actually doing something about this situation. There is a need to find another solution to the problem because how it stands is not working. And other people will not fix it. Although our cars are made for speed, but most people have trouble controlling their speed.…

    A Fair Punishment

On the morning of April 21st, 2009, my biology teacher gave me, and the rest of the class, some terrible news. She told us that my high school classmate and friend, Major Washington, had been killed in a car accident the previous night. I later learned that Major, and his mother Sylvia Porter, had been hit by a drunk driver on their way to return a movie. The man behind the wheel was driving with a suspended license, and his blood-alcohol level was at .18, which is three times the legal limit. This was not his first drunk driving offense. Suspending someone’s license on their first drunk driving offense is not a strong enough punishment. I believe that this tragedy could have been avoided if this man was in a place where he could not drink, and in a place where he could not get behind the wheel of a car. In order to avoid tragedies like this one, drunk drivers should be imprisoned on their first offense for one year.…
