Personal Narrative Example - 6th Birthday Party
Anxious and Excited. Those words describe me on the day of my 6th birthday party. Excitement can come in 2 ways: inside or out; mine was shown in both ways! So many people had come to celebrate with me and the fact that people cared enough to come celebrate is something that is very special to me.

It was the day of my party, a day I would never forget. I had so much excitement I could hardly contain it. Yet still, there were things to be done. The moonwalk we had requested had arrived and I watched it slowly inflate. But, I was called in the house to help with food, decorations, and chairs. Now, the guests were to arrive.

Once the guests arrived, we played lots of games in the basement and received “points” for winning towards “prizes” which were our goody-bags. I liked it a lot because we got to choose what prize we wanted. At the time, it seemed like the best thing in the world!! But, no, there was more! While some were playing games others were chatting upstairs and some were on our moonwalk.

Before the party I had practiced my magic tricks for many days, now the day and finally come. I could show everyone my tricks. Although I messed one up, everyone still loved the show!

That seemed like the day could not get any better, but presents were still to come! I got 3 dolls: an American Girl doll named Bekah, a butterfly baby doll, and a cabbage patch doll which you could feed peanut butter and jelly! I, of course, enjoyed the gifts a lot! Though I did not want to say good-bye, it was time. As I said goodbye I was disappointed but I still remember that day as the best birthday ever!

This party was special in many ways. That anxious and excited feeling that I had before the party has also stayed with me to now. I will always remember how much fun I had and the excitement I had

    Musical Performance

It was my first ever performance on my own, I was on last, I stood there with my legs crossed, they couldn’t move. Suddenly I thought of my mummy and daddy and the rest of my family sitting there with big smiles on there faces waiting for me to step onto the stage and be so proud of me. Eagerly waiting for the cheering and whistling as they said my name for my time to perform I started to think of my parents and what they done to get me here today. I remember my mummy and daddy telling me before they left for me to perform, be brave and do your best and don’t forget to smile, like the whole song depended on it; otherwise the dance would be nothing, like a fire fly gliding around but without its light. I played my song routine over and over in my head making sure I knew every note. Suddenly I heard my name was called through a microphone echoing from wall to wall. The theatre was bigger than I ever imagined. Heavy, dark red curtains swept down from the ceiling to the stage. Posh red seats where hundreds of people where sitting, glaring at the stage. As I went to walk on, the nerves hit me, I was still frozen, like I was being held back, I didn’t know what to do until I felt…
