It was a crisp spring day the birds were chirping and the bugs were buzzing and my brother and I, at the age of 10, were playing around in the backyard of our house. All we were doing was just playing around in the backyard having a fun time being normal children as always. Then I came up with this perfect idea to play hockey because since we all love hockey. So we wouldn't work garage I got a plastic baseball bat and my brother got a wooden baseball bat plus a whiffle ball.…
I remember little of my childhood. Although I have vivid memories of when I first grabbed a hold…
It was the middle of the summer and I was playing baseball in Jackson, Mississippi. I was playing for the Goodlettsville All-Stars. We were playing in the little league 10u world series. To get to the championship we had to win 8 games and it was single elimination. We had won 7 out of 8 games and we were playing our 8th game and it was the bottom of the third and I was playing left field. In the second inning I was felling drowsy so my dad gave me a Snickers and a Red Bull. I was for sure not drowsy anymore. I could feel the sugar rushing through my veins and I was on the balls of my feet waiting for the pitch to be thrown. When my pitcher threw the ball I had my hand in my glove ready for the ball if it was hit to me. WHAM! The ball was hit so far up in the air it looked like it hit the sun. When I realized that the ball was coming to me I was way too far back so I had to run as fast as I could and dive for the ball. I jumped as far as I could and stretched as far as I could. I barely caught it by snow coning the ball. Everybody was so proud of me that the screamed as loud as they could. We went on to win the game 4-1. The next day I woke up, jumped out of the bed, and put my uniform on. I was so excited, I was in the championship! I…
The best memories are with my little brother he might go crazy and throw sticks and punches but he loves me and I love him.…
Growing up as a child was very met morale and a sometimes fun other times not experience. Many memories are developed during your childhood but many memories are forgotten. Memories that are remembered are apart of who we are today an what makes us how we are. These memories and experiences tech us life lessons that we use without knowing it everyday. A memorable day for me was in a lacrosse game in the 2012-13 lacrosse season.…
Growing up in the Deer Run area I detested wilderness. I went to an elementals school by the name of Pete Gallego; it is located on the outskirts of Eagle Pass and we didn't have to go far to see vast wilderness. To the students of Pete Gallego Elementary, wilderness was a barren wasteland that only homed rattlesnakes and hares. We saw it every day at recess; there were mesquite trees, more mesquite tree and believe it or not a few hundred more mesquite trees. They weren’t even the green ones; they had this dirty grey hue to them, as if they had been bleached by years of children’s tears. So when my sixth grade teacher gave us the project of, “take time out of your day to look at and appreciate nature.” I was livid; I was not going to walk around this desert and risk my life to appreciate sadness and sorrow. Little did I…
I can still remember the times when I was just a young boy. I grew up in the rural part of town on our family's ranch. Most knew where my family resided, as we set up our establishment and named it the Double G Ranch. Amongst my family, included a vast variety of animals. We had everything from racing horses to bulls and even a mean rooster that startled everyone on the farm except for my mother. Friends and close relatives would often visit to participate in trail rides, social gatherings, and other outdoor activities. My family's ranch became not only everyone else around us the favorite place to hang out, but also a place where I created memories. I can honestly say that my childhood consisted of numerous adventures that fulfilled my enjoyment.…
My favorite memories as a kid were when my mom would win a free night at one of the big Casinos in the city. We would ride into the city at night and I could see all the twinkling lights from the big buildings and when we got to the hotel room we would beg…
I woke up the next morning from our hotel door opening. My family had came back from eating breakfast. I had food crumbs all over my old self. My stomach rumbled. I was so hungry. My mom noticed and grabbed some dog food from our closet. She put it in the bowl and sadly I snarfed it down. After I eating and drinking some water, I went out onto the patio with the book,“My Dog and Me”, in my mouth. I don’t remember whom the author was but I thought it was an excellent read. I was reading how they were driving their car when my mom came onto the patio and saw me reading and took the book out of my mouth and…
Every person has at least one significant place that is cemented in their memory more than others. No matter where it is, it appears much more richly in our minds than most other places, and triggers a series of emotions and recollections. Some of the most prominent memories of my childhood spring from my family’s annual Christmas spot in Paris Landing state park. This little stretch of cabins in the woods is one of the most vivid and precious memories I have.…
As I grew, I became who I am now, with great memories of my friends and family, and even some bad ones. I think my best memory was actually last year. When I was in 6th grade I started to like this band, they gradually got more…
As adults, it is often hard for us to remember childhood memories unless they hold some significance. So, it is strange that for some reason we can seem to remember the old games that we played. Whether it was something simple like…
The most memorable time in my life was my daughter's cleft palate surgery. It was January 4th when my daughter and I had to leave El Paso, TX to take a trip to Austin, TX. It was a long drive for a little baby like her at the time she was only two years old. Early that morning my parents took us to the bus station. The bus was leaving at 6 a.m. in the morning to get to Austin, TX at midnight. My daughter and I felt it was the longest drive ever as the bus was very full and kept stopping. Finally, we arrived to Austin at midnight. I had to walk around for some time until I found a cab to take us to the hotel. I was scared and nervous. I was all alone with my daughter in a city we didn't know. We arrived to the hotel and finally felt safe and some peace. As soon as we walked in the room, I called my family and let them know we were good.…
One of the earliest memories I have of my mom was at a photography studio. In between classes and working, my mother also did modeling at a bridal company for extra money. I was sitting across the room trying to be good while my mom was getting her makeup done, and after what seemed like hours she finally stepped out of the makeup chair. I remember vividly how beautiful she looked. Her long blonde hair was curled in spirals, and all you could see were her giant sparkling blue eyes, everyone just gasped at her beauty. I still have the pictures of her from…
