My mom was driving a car full of kids all under the age of nine. My Dad was at work at the time. We were just driving straight down the road on the way to a church function. A drunken man who was illegally driving turned right into my family and hit us head on. The drunk guy did not even care about what had happened. His head was bleeding lots and he got out of his car and chugged a beer before the police had arrived. The suburban was totaled but luckily none of us were hurt. It was a blessing in disguise that my Dad had a bad headache that day. He was on his way home from work early and was only a mile away from the scene when my Mom called him. My Mom was in shock and not able to talk. A man who had witnessed the accident took my Moms phone and told my Dad we were all okay. We were all still fastened in our car seats.
