A few feet to the right of the village was the shore, toward where I was walking along with others; suddenly, we encountered something never seen before. From far, one could see what looked like tiny floating mountains. Out of amusement, we ran to the shoreline only to find out the mysterious objects were enormous boats; huge in comparison to the ones from the village.

As a police detective, I see a lot of things ordinary men can’t even fathom—serial killers, rapists, drug lords—but nothing could have prepared me for the Dyer Street case. It started out like any other home invasion: a local woman went to bed with her family when all of a sudden she heard a scream coming from her son’s bedroom. When she entered the room she found her son on the floor, unresponsive.…

I then attempted to see if this was the same J-Rock that went to Emily Hamlin residence on the night of the Homicide.…

I wish as we grew older I could have done more for Pam, after all she did nice things out of the blue for us now and then. Age eleven she sent me a watch on my birthday through the mail. Our relationship was not always kind to each other, she had a way with making you feel worthless as our father did to us. Of course, we totally know how that developed, I believe that is how her murder came about, she had a way with language that could slice right through your soul or I should say, what is left of one’s psyche. Terry’s past I am sure was not kind, with the loss of his mother and a family that should have never accepted him, and he may have been alive…

A chilly wind had blown over the harbor. I held my gun at my side. My mind and body were alert. There had been reports of strange ships out in the lake. My gun was loaded. Out in the forest, I saw shapes moving. I picked up my gun and started to walk toward the shapes. I was careful to not let them know they had caught my attention. The figures stopped. They turned and sprinted away. They saw me. Who are they? I sprinted after them. They were going toward the river. I realized they had gone away. I ran back to the town hall.…

The police said it was a robbery and that my father car was found stripped and left up on blocks. My father was barely hanging on for dear life when one of the attorneys from his old job came to tell me that his disability would now be cut off because there would be no way to tell if his injuries was from the job or from the robbery. Oh, but if that wasn’t adding salt to an already open wound, Mack Cannoli arrived to ask me how was I going to pay my father’s debt now that he can’t. What the man had offered as a way to help pay the debt had me taking a swing at him, but his men stopped me. Luckily, the police officer who was investigating the robbery walked in.…

As I was writing my personal narrative for my composition 1 class, it easily made my mind boggle. After I had got started on my personal narrative, it was easy for me to keep writing and keep following along the story line. The main strength of mine that the essay played to was my creativity and my flexibility for different writings, because I have never written an essay as serious and sad as this one, but I did have to add my happy ending when I finished the story. I wanted it to be very attention grabbing with a twist, but I also wanted it to be very emotional.…

My interest in criminal law dates back to 1989, where I witnessed an incident that happened in my home in Santa Ana, California. From what I remember, one of the three teenagers threw a baseball size rock through our backyard sliding glass door. My father chased them down and got one of them by the ear. He took him in the house and dialed 911 for police assistance. The other two teenagers got the mother to the front door of my house. It was a chaotic scene, the mother of the offender frantically trying to get in, banging on the metal screen door and yelling, my father struggling to communicate with the emergency dispatcher while tightly holding the offender by the ear. I remember seeing the frustration on my father’s face. At age five, I made…

There were seven little soldier boys left on my island, and one of them came dangerously close to revealing me, that I was the murderer. I decided to throw out all of the logs so new lumber would have to be chopped down for the fire. Originally I planned to sneak up behind him and taking him out while he chopped, but they decided to have one person chopping while the other five watched out for a murderer. I decided to pretend like I was asleep while they were doing chores, so no one would suspect foul play. I knew the only time I could possibly catch him alone was when he inevitably went to the restroom. I hid in the closet and waited with a view of who was coming in, waiting to ambush my victim.…
