It was terrifying; my legs and arms were shaking, my face was bright red, and I was cracking my fingers nonstop. Never in my life have I done something so out of my comfort zone, but for some reason, I thought golf would be something that I would genuinely love doing. I had never played golf before, so I slowly dragged myself into Golfsmith and bought myself a new set of golf clubs, a couple of cute golf skirts, polos, and visors. The wind was blowing in my face as I was getting ready to swing; I take the club back, swing with all my strength and abilities, and miss the tiny, dirt covered golf ball. I felt the cold stares on the back of my neck, and the silent giggles flowing down my back. As embarrassed and mortified as I was, I set myself up again to take another shot. “Focus,” I told myself, “Focus”. Slowly, moving the club back, I swing and hit the ball! Although it was only a couple of feet, my confidence rose making the next hit better than the first. We played 9 holes that day, and although we didn’t keep score, I’m almost certain I shot above 115, but I didn’t care. It’s easy to say that my golf skills were not up to par, but I chose to continue playing because I knew I could only
