I want to challenge my fears of social interaction with the burgeoning environment of college. The close-knit community melded within the honors dorms will force me to crack open my shell. In order to thrive, I must embrace my independence; avoiding thoughts of self-doubt or distrust. My Grandmother has always told me that my professional goals can only be reached with a procurement of the self. An undeveloped sense of self can hinder one's abilities to look towards the future. I aim to develop the aspects of my personality that I find the most advantageous, such as my creativity, my compassion, my strength, and my determination. The honors college will become the catalyst in my journey towards self-confidence, independence, and the embracement of my own creativity within the field I
